If there is an advantage of the Thursday , its looking highly like Sydney in Sydney the following week should we win . Not ideal .

But at least it should be a longer break between those games , maybe 8 or 9 days

AFL are bloody dogs dumping us on a Thursday, screwing any chance of us being able to travel up. TV before fans. Always.
RFC would love this . As following weeks game are Friday/ Saturday nights . Extra recovery . It’s a National Comp after all . Have no issues with playing Thursday Night

Nah, I'm with Ian4

The club may like it from a playing group perspective but as Ian said this is TV before fans. The reality is that there is no reason to have a Thursday night game at all except for TV. The 4 finals could be played Friday night, Saturday afternoon and night and Sunday.

Pre booked my refundable flights and accommodation for Brisbane a week ago. Was flying up Friday morning and coming back Sunday.
Flights for Thursday have jumped $300 each way and accommodation has jumped $250 per night.
F##k you Carlton
If Carlton had won we would have played in Melbourne

Like the majority on here I'm no fan of the AFL administration but .....
Ultimately, we as a club put ourselves in this position by some pretty inept performances throughout the season.
Let's just suck it up and go and get the job done and challenge the team to really live the anytime-anywhere mantra.
Could be one of the greatest rides ever (I hope!)

The way we’ve played the last 4 weeks, I say
“Any club, anywhere, anytime”.

Brisbane v top 8
Won 3 - lost 5

They beat Sydney (SCG) and bulldogs and Collingwood at the Gabba.

Lost to Melbourne twice, Richmond, Geelong, Fremantle.

I'd fancy us against the Ducks more so than the Dees. I think they're the only team that can give us a lot of trouble.
We will smash it in Brisbane.
Sydney at Sydney looks a pretty daunting fixture. Melbourne with Gawn and their midfield pretty tough also. Not so easy, but confident we are better than both.
We will benefit greatly for the rest, which couldn't have come at a better time.
WIN WIN.

Learn from the last time we played them in Round 20. Dont give them a big lead, we looked better with Rioli on (Subbed in for Grimes). We need to put some work into Colman who did as he wished off half back - very neat kick.

Real hard RFC pressure throughout - we know what we need to do !

Who knows how it will pan out? Would anyone be really surprised if the Swans actually beat Melbourne? I sure wouldn't.
We just have to get past the Brions first.

Agree Oldie. Melbourne at least have the opportunity to play the match at the G. Meeting them in Sydney makes them a much tougher task.

I wouldn't be surprised if the swans won either. Not saying they will but they are not without a chance.

Has anyone heard if Brisbane are challenging their 2 suspensions or just accepting them?

They will challenge for sure.

There is no way Rayner should get off. But it would not surprise. he pinned the arms, swung him around and took him to ground. Open and shut.

Disagree. I went to Brisbane in 2019 and I reckon the crowd was 60/40 their way... I estimate there were 15,000 Richmond supporters at the Gabba that night. This helped reduce the home ground advantage of the home team.

While we do have a large following in SE QLD and we’ll still probably have a few thousand to the Gabba, the bulk of the tiger army won’t be able to travel. That’s probably worth a couple of goals on the scoreboard. The club will be spewing as much as the fans.

I also think back to the qualifying final in 2020. We lost that game due to our bad discipline. They tried to suck us in and we fell for it. We gave away multiple 50m pens in the first half. We came hard in the second half, but with the shorter quarters, we were unable to run them down.

We just need to be within 1-2 goals at half time and we win.

Thats what I thought but being as the suspensions were handed down on Saturday I'd have thought they'd have already announced it

Media getting stuck into Zorko for his behaviour and what he said.
We should be giving it to Zorko game day
