I agree with Leysy, coming along nicely and was really clean tonight.

I agree with Reds, would like to see him get dirty more. A tackle every now and then (19 in 14 games this year, 0 tonight. That's not many). When midgets like Merrett are walking out of stoppages it's not a bad ploy to squash them.

Squashings is my favourite stat, just ahead of shoves and thumps

I love his goal assists, sharing ball to guys in better position. Take note Shai.
Scarcely believable that you could have a crack at Shia for not sharing the ball. Laughable really that you could compare these two particular players in any way at all.

Great to hear him building that relationship with The Sonz... mentoring and a bromance.

This is the future guys. Get onboard.

He played well, against a bottom side in a dead rubber.
I am a J. Ross fan, but there is a lot of truth in that. it is like posters getting carried away with performances from RCD and Dow against Coburg or Preston, its good they played well, but like overly meaningful for what we need.

Ross will be a borderline selection.
If Dusty and Graham do come back, surely the outs will come from Ross, Edwards and Sonsie (or maybe (but doubtfully) Rioli Jr-which may cause a little unrest on here!)- with one of them the sub.
And i reckon the selection will be judged on roles, rather than performance.

Lets not forget it was a pretty bruise free game against Essendon. First game against Brisbane will be 30% higher intensity with less time to react. Hopefully he lifts again

Here is what the RFC thinks of him.
Young Richmond midfielder Jack Ross firmly grasped the opportunity provided to him following his recall to the Tigers’ senior side for last night’s Round 23 clash with Essendon at the MCG, producing a top-notch performance.

Ross was one of Richmond’s best players in the 66-point win, finishing with 21 disposals, seven marks, five inside-50s, two goal assists, an equal game-high and AFL career-high 14 score involvements and 322 metres gained.

It was the fourth time this season in 14 games that the 21-year-old has had 20 disposals or more, underlining his improvement at the game’s highest level.

As said before he's unsigned at this late stage of the year. Bit unusual. Whether that's him or us who's managed that who knows.
Which club/s has him in their sights I wonder? I would think there would be suitors.
If it came down to paying Cotch for another year or losing Ross which direction do you go?
Over to you Blair..

Tough call if your hypothetical is a pure one or the other on the list. Ideally we keep both but we let Chimp take it easy and play home games only. Chimp still has a lot to give, leading by example being the most important. We've done so well with blooding our young kids that you've got to wonder if we should start with the new generation sooner rather than later to ensure we have enough salary cap to resign them all.

Yeah. Surprised this hasn’t been noted by many to date. His kicking is in the elite category and maybe explains the high rate of uncontested possessions more than it being anything to do with a lack of centre bounce activity or playing on the wing or whatever.

ie he’s the Mail Man.

Could still improve on his tackling and one or two more contested possessions, just the same.

despite what Chimp does, with Edwards and Lambert going does this creates some kind of space for Ross?
