made a couple of blues but is class

Agree, he wasn't enjoying kicking into the wind, but he kept presenting regardless.

He is doing fine and bodes well for next year with a full pre-season with the boys

Biggest football lesson of his career so far.

Take the ball. Own the moment come what may. Want the ball.

He’ll be better for it.

Lucky he didn't break his neck today.
I'm cutting Bauer some slack, he landed on his head from about 10 foot in the air. Those mistakes happened after that, should have been off the ground getting tested for concussion.

Good point. Never thought that. Nice leap anyway.

Its surprising I have seen him multiple times shake off teammates and go back and have shots. Stubbing his foot on the previous shot must of really shaken his confidence.

We dont have any old heads in the forward line to scream at him to take his 30 seconds and then the shot.

Would have thought with the amount of close losses the team has had in the seniors that it would have filtered down through the team to know how much time is left in the game and to go back and take your shot

When your senior players "aarts" go back and then pass into the centre of the ground on the opposition players chest I guess your junior players dont know who to look for , for guidance.

A year or so ago Morris would have run straight up to him in the forward line and told him to use his time and take his kick. Surprised no one got to him.

He really is a lovely shot on goal generally

Bauer has kicked 16:12 in VFL this year plus the one today he didn't make the distance from 20 m and the one he passed off from 30m out. Not sure yet if I would call him a lovely shot for goal but despite some brain fades today he had 10 marks and led up high to the wing late to take a down the line mark that was crucial in our win.
A pre-season should do him wonders and learning not to fly against Samson Ryan when Samson has position would be beneficial too, but you can't knock a bloke who wants to attack the footy in the air at all cost.

I like him, I like him a lot. Would be good to see him play in front a bit more though.

R22 VFL from Morris -

Jacob Bauer (12 disposals, 10 marks, three tackles, two goals)

"Had a sensational day, with the exception of his finishing in front of goals, which is usually a strength of his. But, the one thing that does stand out is he's getting to great spots, he's getting opportunities, and he fights tooth-and-nail to create a contest forward of centre for us. To come in and do what he's done in the second half of the season has been outstanding, and I'm certain there are big things to come in Jacob's career."

I can assure you that at close range Bauer throws everything at it. Reminds me of Borad in that respect. (I like this Borad Broad.)

Borat even ?

Borad's surely got a mankini. And the photobomber, according to Peggy at the time, was to become Borad's wife. ("They're in a relationship.")

The comparisons are endless.

So you are saying Bauer would make a decent intercept defender (maybe in the Howe mold)??

Thanks for correcting - I was wondering about the comparison with Borat
