I really like Phoenix Foster will be around our picks I reckon Bully were do you see him go.

He's on my short list, very good contested mark & reasonably mobile, pity he isn't an inch taller because 196cm will make it tough as a ruckman. I have him in the 30-60 range, I think there will be some takers as he's probably 4th or 5th on the key forward list & there's always a demand for this position. My rough rankings are -

1. Cadman (clear standout)
2. Jefferson
3. Keeler
4. Knobel
5. Foster
6. Verall
7. Bradtke
8. Lemmey

I reckon if we can snstch Foster ,Knobel or Bradke any of the 2 we have did well. Foster would play as a permanent forward in the afl.

Thought's on Verall and Lemmey mate ?.

Lemmey has had a poor year, he has looked fumbly at times, not much in the way of physical contact and I don't rate his kicking enough to visualise him as a rebounder, Himmelberg was the template last year but the cracks are showing in 2022. For a latish pick I can see some merit but he'd want to test through the roof at the combine, I certainly don't see him as a new age Barry Hall, he's actually quite a few rungs down from van Rooyen and he went early second round. You'd have to say 3rd round to rookie.

Verall looks very competitive, his contested game is elite & is also a very nice size. Smaller sample size than the others so you'd probably want better than average combine data to ensure there's significant scope for improvement, another player with a good floor if he has decent running capacity.

Foster reminds me of Sam Weideman.
Good shout. Needs to take the coat hangar out of his jumper before he plays.

Lemmey looked elite last year, would’ve went top 10.

I’d snaflle him with a pick after 30.

Thats not a great example ,his run and jump is elite ,he is a excellent mark just needs to improve his ground game more.
Foster reminds me of Sam Weideman.
You watched Keelers match against Norwood ,Foster was very good for Norwood ,Foster was good in a losing side.
Fosters a better mark and kick for goal than Keeler, but Keeler is better at ground level.

If Soldo is part of the Hopper, Taranto trade, Wa ruckmen Jackson Broadbent is a player who's stocks seemed to have fallen a bit. He'd be worth considering if the likes of Keeler and Lemmey are gone.
I really like his teammate Mitch Edwards too, but he's not 18 until next year.

Lemmey was really underwhelming at the champs ,his effort for someone so highly rated was poor,l wouldn't touch him even with a bummers pick.
Be interesting to see what picks we end up with ,but seeing we tried to get Logue as well,l would expect a Kp would be one of our selections.

Lemmey has been a bit disappointing this year but I’ve watched a number of his SANFL U/18 games and he’s been sort of ok when he’s played at CHB instead of up front. The problem with him and all the other SA KPF’s is they lack intensity and like easy, simple, lead up delivery. They all need to develop a more consistent, tougher contested mark game and ground game as well, including pressure acts.

Not sure we shouldn’t be looking at the senior leagues ie VFL, SANFL, WAFL for mature players where any KPF’s are concerned. Beyond Cadman, Jefferson and Keeler it starts to look a little lean after them.

Broadbent just doesn't say AFL to my eyes. Solid at junior level, has aggression.

Fosters strength is his marking ,and is a very good contested mark ,you can tell he's a natural forward, but he's another of those kp types who are made to ruck.
He is quite athletic too, don't get me wrong l don't think he is anywhere as good as Cadman ,but he does have potential to work with.

A massacre happening in the Wafl Colts qualifying final, Subiaco lead South Fremantle 13 goal 3 to 1 behind at half time.

Watched claremont bully peel thunder wafl semi today.

Neil Erasmus is going to be a star - i think you can bank it.
Matt johnson could go either way.

A player caught my eye - anthony davis 21 193/85 - smart athletic courageous interceptor with a neat left leg.

Bit of darren gaspar about him. Done no research on him - west aussie pre'ers might be able to expand

Yes, agree with you on Davis, at 21 could probably get him as a rookie.

Don't forget Johnson has had an interrupted year, his breakout game came in the home & away season, has since signed a long term deal with the Dockers. Erasmus was in my list of 4 who stand to become the best player of the draft (excluding the top 2), that list also included Rachele, Johnson & Goater. All these players have shown enough in their debut season to keep the flame flickering.

Still very keen on Jacob Van Rooyen. 36.12 as a key forward in year one of the VFL. That's super impressive.

Spoke to someone involved with Casey/Melbourne and the Dees see JVR playing a lot of footy next year as a key forward. And there was a push fro him to play this year, quite a few people were bewildered he didn't get a look at AFL.

Would love Rachele but think its very clear that we absolutely nailed it with Gibcus and Sonsie

Saw some comparative stats between the two players and, with no AFL preseason and of course less games, Jacob Bauer is travelling extremely well.
We may have snagged a good one

He's one I would have taken over Brown, I would have been happy with any of Johnson/Goater/van Rooyen in that slot. I think picking a flanker in the top 20 should only be done if there's absolute top shelf kicking - Rich, Hurn, Salem etc. Some obviously believe he's in that category so I'll be keeping an open mind, fingers crossed.
