...the ball is never over the post from 2 angles at the same time.

I'm not surprised the AFL is attempting to gaslight everyone, but personally I won't fall for this nonsense and I hope the club now asks the AFL to provide the two camera angles with time stamps.

My kids and I love Turn it up.

But the rest of the show is generally poor.

Cam Mooney must be the luckiest guy on the planet. A very average footballer who won multiple flags. And now gets paid as a football "personality" and "expert" when he is as thick as, and even more boring, than a plank. Staggered he continues to get a gig on any football broadcast.

Agree MD Jazz. I gave some feedback on the show last year saying that Mooney was an arrogant bloke who added nothing to the show, Sharni was hopeless when she was on too. There are some good segments, Turn it up being the best, but it does struggle at times also trying to fill the hour. I haven't watched it for a few weeks and when I went to watch it last week, I couldn't find it, hence my initial query.

I pay $5 a week for Kayo, and cast it from my broadband to the TV. I've never had an issue with it, and think it's great value
Yes by my beef is that it's not FHD which, in this day and age, is pretty ordinary viewing. Their golf coverage is terrible for the number of vital shots they miss, ignoring Aussie players for dominant coverage of big name Yanks or beloved Rory!

Wonder what they mean by triangulation? 3 Camera angles? Doesn't sound convincing. In research terminology it means using 3 different sources of info to ascertain if something happened.

Wouldn't triangulation in this case just mean three different camera shots at the same point in time?

My take on last night was the AFL were adamant to Hardwick they made the right call based on the technical aspects and Hardwick is still dubious but doesn't have the knowledge base to question what they are saying.

Would be interesting to hear from experts on it.

Hardwick was far too effusive towards the AFL last night.
Think someone upped his dosage
As others have suggested, maybe something's coming back our way, like a good trade deal with GWS, or fair umpiring next year. Kind of like how they compensated the Dogs for the Talia affair by gifting them the 2016 flag, only of course not as blatant cos it's us.

All they need is to have laser beams shooting straight up from the top of the goal posts. If the beam is broken an alarm goes off, or the ball explodes, or something.

Something coming back our way. This is your funniest post yet. Only thing coming back our way from the AFL is the regular Starfish Enterprise excursions we have to endure. We might as well all just get around in tracksuit pants every day and make it easier for them.

We were talking about this at work.
In the building industry we use lasers daily, they have been around for decades and and are now cheap and easy to use. A laser on the top of each post shooting into the sky that is activated when its beam is broken is the obvious solution to this debacle. Its a simple and easy fix that would be unlikely to introduce other issues.

Unlike most of the AFL' s "improvements".

How they can maintain that it was over the post from 2 angles when the footage shows it went over the goal line at less than post height, and it was kicked from 10m out and landed back in the stands, is beyond me. They clearly do not give a flying f*ck what we think, they will continue to peddle their false narrative forever.

He plays the goose a bit but in real life is one of the best blokes you would want to meet.

Maybe. Agree Dimma still sus. All we can do is speculate.

Still a lot of outstanding issues.

1) Its still not clear if triangulation is effective at all, let alone in this case. It sounds good, but bending and spinning balls and endless possible angles, I'm not convinced. I don't know who did that diagram, but that is a joke.

2) Did they triangulate on the night or after the fact? If it was at the time, it must have been from the footage we saw, in which case forget it, they couldn't tell from the various angles we saw and we're back to square 1, if it was the second, that still leaves us with the fact they didn't follow the process correctly at the time.

3) The fact they still won't show us any evidence at all suggests it was a stuff up, they don't want to open up any can of pandoras by admitting it, and they can crank up the PR machine to muddy the waters with 'secret footage', 'right call wrong process' BS knowing all non-tiger fans are happy whatever way we lose, and can call us whingers.

Did they triangulate the below 2 images to get the conclusive result?
If both images were taken at the exact same time, the second image shows it's a goal.

sorry I don't understand why anyone is even looking at all of that

Just watch this and all arguments are over, it's a goal

the only thing we should be discussing is why their precious technology creates some doubt about something that is clearly a goal

Did I hear correct that they are going to fix the ARC by not making the goal umpire make a decision? Ffs just spend the money and use the best possible technology available to tell if a goal touches a post or a hand or dosent , 50+ years ago they put man on the moon

Ump said it was a goal. Insufficient information to overturn it. That’s the rule. And the rule is fine. AFL can’t admit it screwed up and now making noises about umpires…hehe…not…hehehoho…hehehahaha…making a call? WTAF?

The AFL‘s solution is for the officiating umpire to not officiate the game…hehehe
