Why the Lambo comparisons then? He certainly wasn't a burst player
Not sure where the comparisons are coming from. Think there was mention that he’s being groomed to play the Lambert role.
But Lambert was a gut running machine from day 1.
Not sure Clarke has that in his repertoire.
He seems to be tracking more in the Edwards mould.
But there’s plenty of upside and I’m a fan

Clarke will never progress if he can't get a good run in the firsts to really blood him into the craft. It is not as if we are contenders this year so lets give the kids ago instead of carrying some players

Not surprised he's been dropped. His composure with the ball is lacking. He's got talent and the skills but needs to be more composes. A bigger body would help, maybe that's another reason why he's not in against the cats.

I have a bit of an issue with the way the match committee goes about blooding kids. I don’t like how they give them 1-2-3 games, then drop them.

Jack Ross has been a victim of this policy. 10 of his 48 games has been as sub. When they finally gave him some continuity late in the season last year, he became a pretty handy player.

Admittedly, 12 disposals over the past 2 weeks isn’t good enough. But I would be playing Clarke over Cotchin.

You do know Clarke has played the last 6 games?
And i reckon starting sub is now just seen as part of the 23, so he mighnt have even been dropped this week.

You just talking endurance, not speed?

Was wondering the same. Clarke clocked in at a lazy 32.4km/h last week which was the fastest of any player in the ground.

Power, mainly, gentlemen. Juddy tested IIRC 2.91 for 20m. But the other two are at least his equal for footy speed at this stage. Nad could break him in half or run rings around and him in game now. Ashcroft plays like he's 95kg. Has he actually thrown a tackler into the stands yet? He will. And Daicos the Greater plays like he's 2.7/20m. Nobody can get near him. And these children keep doing this stuff. Stamina.

Daicos in particular has many elite traits.
He finds plenty of the footy and disposes of it beautifully on either side of his body. And has a very high football I.Q to see and execute kicks under fierce pressure.
But his best feature by some margin is his endurance. He just never blows up.
Judd will get better but will never be in the Daicos/Ashcroft bracket. Think he’s a burst player

Spot on. Juddy has a lot of work in front of him to get a career, much less near that pair. But I keep seeing Juddy's inside work, DA. He can win it inside and if he has two feet on the ground he will hold and use with aplomb.

I think he's an inside player.

Morris on VFL R8 -

Judson Clarke (10 disposals, four inside-50s, three rebound-50s)

"A really interesting day for Judson. He barely got sighted in the first half, but it was a real credit to him that he stuck tough and had a really influential second half. He really did look like he could have broken the game open late in the game."

May not have taken his demotion too well but seems to have rallied.

He played on Friday night and backed up on Saturday.

Will be a good player in the years to come. Too timid at the moment in my view and rightfully so as he has the frame of a Greyhound.

A bit worried about Juddy.
Not convinced he will make it.
I don't think he has the intensity required.
Saw it last week and again last night.
He comes on late in the 3rd.
Then in the last quarter a few times you can see him in the shot trailing behind.
Sort of running at his own pace not extending to get to the contest.
Seemed almost gassed.
Surely he can't be cooked in a quarter and 10 minutes?
Maybe I am wrong. Just wasn't a good look IMHO.

Not physically up to it at this stage. Needs a huge summer

Sub is about the worst role you can play and Clarke has been sub more than his fair share. Still, despite being sub 3+ times, he has managed to impact on each occasion. He is a talent and the coaches know this that’s why they keep playing him even as the sub. The only thing holding him back is physical development but that will come in time.

End the sub farce and start him on the ground. Give him a block of games to work in.
