I don't think Noah has been out of the side because of a lack of defensive pressure, as ToO said his tackling has been good this season.
He starts well but if he misses a goal or makes a blew he gets down on himself and goes missing.
It's good that he's gone back to the VFL and done well, I hope Cumbo comes back in against Port he deserves to.

My first instinct is to agree,

But if hes schooled right,

Hell do the mercurial AND tackle.

Were planning for 5 years time now, not next week.

Cumbo could be an unconventional FF in our next flag, but youve got to be hard wired to work your arse off without the ball.

The VfL is choccas with 26 year old, seemingly gun forwards,

Who either never worked this out, or just dont have the haemoglobin to do it.
Saying he doesn’t tackle is an absolute myth

Noah doesn't need any more of Dimma's great successes or he will be looking elsewhere for a home.

And how would blame him.
If that's the case then I doubt he'd end up having much of a career. There's plenty of footy talent available at AFL level. The quality players match talent with work ethic and discipline and mental toughness.
Cummerbund has plenty of talent, Dimma's desperately trying to build his mental toughness, discipline and tweak his work ethic so he can maximise his talents rather than just be flakey and inconsistent.

Think along the lines of Dusty.....................KMart Dusty ............................ Flakey Jakey. It's a long bow to draw but what sort of player do you want running out in a Tiger jumper.

Cumbo was asked to focus on the defensive side of his game and he did that, and has generally showed that in every game this year, but he is 1 of those players that relies on confidence. It was clear that his confidence was smashed in his last appearance. He's gone back and done well, he probably started a bit poorly in the first half, a few poor kicks inside 50 etc, but finished very strongly and obviously finished with the 4 goals.

Cumbo is a very different player when things go well for him, but does appear to drop his head when a few things go wrong. Needs to have some mindfullness coaching I think to not let these things get to him, but with the way he finished the game, he should be back in the team next week. A confident Cumbo is a big asset to our football club.

Finished big last week n was big all game this week. It's harder at AFL level but all he needs to do is keep working big and the opportunities will arrive during a game at any level.
That package mongrel was beaten for three quarters last night but finished big in the last qtr and influenced a massive result for Essendrugs.

That’s all it takes for some players Some are there and can stand up in big moments and some can’t
Would rather have a natural forward than a back pocket playing forward

Cumbo will do me fine in that current forward line, thanks

Saying he doesn’t tackle is an absolute myth
Tackling does not equal defensive pressure alone. tackling someone at the base of a pack is very different than chasing someone 20mts to effect their kick. defensive pressure also means running 20mts to guard space, or to pressure an opponent. it means chasing all the time.
im guessing these are the things that Cumberland hasnt been doing.

he could play every game and we could be a better team (ignoring the fact the last 2 games he has played he has a combined 8 disposals and 0 goals- that probably led to him being dropped not his pressure.) or he can play reserves and work on the areas he needs to improve, and hopefully end up a better player all round.

Thanks for all that, but like I said

They will be pulling out there hair for the next 10 yrs when this kid leaves.
Instinctive forward that plays at full throttle.
But Hardwick hates his guts.
