Footy, like life never stands still. Its bittersweet that we are such a dominant side now we'll lose some good players, players that would have been, and some have been, a walk up start for us not long ago, and would be for most other sides. In the olden days of huge lists, and patience, you'd be happy to have them learning their trade and toughening up in the seconds until a posi opens up.

Trade value is a vague beast. A player can be traded for overs or unders as we all know, based on things like facilitating a trade the player wants, looming deadline and the need to get someone off the books, the pick the the destination side has in their mitt etc etc.

Forget all that, what do you think the players who might leave us are worth? All things being equal. Pick a single digit number, not a range, so we can have a nearest the pin for interest.

for me

Brando 19 (this is a different beast, we have little control over it, but there it is)
McIntosh 29
Menadue 34
Butler 33
Moore 45

Going on previous history I’d say other then KMac , the rest wont get a pick inside 50, I’d say there’s more chance the others will just be trading up for one of our picks.

McKintosh may have slipped out of our best 22 but we have no one else now with his running power to close up space.
Read Riewoldt’s article summary about Trent Cotchin where he talks about what we value internally that most supporters and media wouldn’t necessarily appreciate. Some of those traits are exactly what Kamdyn possesses and would be highly valued at another club. Play hardball or keep.

1. Premiership(s) players.
2. Elite trainers who bring professionals standards and cultures.
3. Have great character and understand winning.

Overate them? Guilty as charged

One of them's a dual premiership player and another two are premiership players. They may not be stars but they've been very good role players in the best side of the comp over the last three years. Outsiders may not value our players but the match committee obviously does.
Might be time we got some overdue return value for some of our players.

Still reckon that's what we are looking at in terms of trades from other teams.

Outside the Suns Contract Offer to Ellis no-one will overpay for our fringe players. Look at what we got for Miles last year and Lloyd who finished top 10 B&F

Those results add weight to our argument, our fringe players, are potentially top ten at another club. Therefore are worth more than junk picks.

But picks in the 40's to 60's is what we will end up with if they go

nah you're generally underrating. Both the players themselves and also the known quantity factor. Fans like a lucky dip, footy sides value what is in front of them higher.

The statement 'we overrate our players' might have been true a while ago, for some, (not that I did), but it ain't now.

We are just about on the same page as to who might find another club and also as to their value. A difficult task for Richmond people because in the past our players have not been sought out for possible trade.
In addition I still think there will be a move on a Tiger ruck, and that we might be willing to deal.

I think you have to very careful who get rid of, we don't want something like 1975 when the club rid of the Whale after in playing 2 flags. I was only young but can remember the outcry of getting rid of him, a great clubman. A lot of *smile* started after that too, Tommy going.
