That was my impression re Jack tonight. They're the experts with intimate knowledge, but if it was up to me based on what's in front of me, Jack and Shed retire, (looks like Lambert will have to), Cotch plays on with a view to playing half a season purely for leadership and experience.
We may have to blood more of our youngsters in a quicker timeframe if we are going to have readymade replacements for 2023 as just losing three of the four will make a big hole in the team

So if Jack doesn't go on, who do we play forward? Balta? Gibcus? Ryan? Bauer?
Going to be an interesting time for us. A couple have shown they are OK forwards but better backs ATM and the other two are seemingly very good prospects in the forwards. Whoever replaces Jack will have big boots to fill

necessity is the mother of invention, we'll see. champs playing too long can cause more problems than it might solve. Besides we still have the top banana in Lynchy, its not condition critical. Jack is a foil these days, a very good foil, but a foil.

havent listened to the comments from Dimma or balmy on this particular matter.

But I'd be super shocked if all 5 departed in one go - Shedda and Lambert are montys to retire for me.

To have both Cotch and JR retire would be a massive loss. especially if Dusty leaves. But even if Dusty stays, to have both Jack and Cotch go at the same time, seems inconsistent with our sure and steady list m/ment turnover these last few years.

I'm depressed thinking about all these champs gone next year.

I'm still of the opinion Jack plays again

Hardwick or anyone in the club aren’t going to commit to any player over 30 especially with a third of the season still to play.

Things can change very quickly between now and October 31.

JR8 and Cotch will go on is my prediction and retire at the end of 23.

Lambo and Sheds to join Cads in retirement this October.

Jack and Cotch going on one more year might help to keep Dustin at the club for at least another season.

Think that’s about right. Jack and Chimp to continue 1 more year. Shed and Lambo finish this year.

Not sure Dimma phrased this as well as he could have.
Appreciate the honesty in saying most of the ones we give away are there and we;ve lost games b/c of the FKs.

But to say 'we've got to get better at attracting them' pretty much opens the door to not get them IMO. Which umpires are gonna give them to us now - they'll just think we conned them even more than they think it now.

He needs to better practice his lines does Dimma, the off the cuff stuff can be misread badly.

We've been quiet and respectful for years and the free kick differential this year is worse if anything.

We all know many teams play for free kicks, oh, hello Footscray, didn't see you walk in.

Might as well spell it out, not spelling it out certainly has not helped.

Overthinking it. It's not Dimma's fault we're not having free kicks paid to us.

Its amazing the difference between afl & nrl when coaches discuss the umpiring/refereeing. Its almost open slather in the nrl and walking on eggshells in the afl

I'm not so sure. Reckon he irritates the AFL with lines like 'i hate coming to marvel' and other subtle (and not so subtle) digs at Head Office.

Yeh, he said the right thing. There's no way things could get worse. There is obviously some noise about it in the background, Huddo mentioned it on the coverage against WC that the tigers (club & supporters) would be happy winning the free kick count as its a constant gripe. Robbo mentioned it on 360. It's clearly being talked about behind the scenes.

It seemed like everyone has suddenly jerried to the situation. Robbo was like a kid with a new toy, the free kick diff ladder, to Dimma, laughing, "do you know this comes out every week?!!??, The Tigers are over double the next worse!?? 80 (or whatever it is) behind the Western Bulldogs!!!!" It was like it was all new to him, or maybe a few of the boys club mentioning it has created a snowball effect. Dimma's response in body language was no *smile* sherlock.

For years we've been furious about it but crickets from the media.

I remember many years ago (not sure exactly when; maybe 90s?) there was a bloke named Brian Smith who coached Parramatta in the NRL. He dead set gave it to the refs with both barrels after most games. It was hilarious. Just did not hold back at all. I remember finding it quite bemusing, and amusing, as that just never happened in the AFL.
