Todays beatup was media induced, however i can't help but feel we have ourselves as a club to blame in some ways.

I can't understand how as a club who has only won 1 game this year - why all this happened during a training session - surely a better time would have been better - to me this alone shows theres more to it.

C'mon Tiges think about the little things if we want to keep the media hounds off our back.

As a member i am dissapointed we have half the team missing trainng when we have a big game on the weekend and we sit 1-7.

Given all the training so far and we are still 1 - 7, you think missing one training session will make us how much worse.........................? :rofl

Might actually help :hihi

:hihi Fair enough, apologies mate.

Just the sort of thing he was coming up with though unlike you he was distorting a lot of what was said to make things sound a lot worse than they were. He was in full on cover his journo mates asses mode, especially with Robbo a regular guest of his.

These guys are professionals, sometimes things happen that demand schedules to be adjusted and changed, rest assured none of them would be missing any preparation time.

In fact they may be spending the time in better ways right now. At the very least if they were not they would make up for it, they wouldn't just say...whoops, there goes that prep session.

There was no media beatup,Wallace was gone & then reinstated.Thats why there was a meeting on while training was happening.

If this is true MB and it does come out in the wash up in years to come, the board is a disgrace and a bunch of amateurs that should not be anywhere near the RFC.

At the moment I will give them the benefit of the doubt and patiently await their mid-season review.

again you know this how MB? you keep stating this as fact but have actually not said how you so firmly believe this.

you're not just believing it because it matches your own thoughts/expectations of the club?

I believe that happened, yes I might be wrong.

This from the Michael Gleeson and Jake Niall article this morning............................................

"...The hour-and-a-half meeting broke up but by then, news of its existence turned into assumptions — initially on the internet — that the coach and chief lieutenant Brian Royal had been sacked.

The coach had not been sacked. He was not going to be sacked that day, nor that evening at the scheduled board meeting. Wallace had gone home to review tapes of games and did not attend training — wisely avoiding what March admitted last night was a "circus".

The Tigers' management and March had met players and reassured them that a plan was in place that would see the coaching reviewed in a month's time..."

If you believe this article (which I do) it explains why some players and the coach weren't at training.

The article also says that clearly some of the players weren't happy with him after Sunday Night. Wallace may have taken these post-match feelings a step further and suspected he was going to be sacked and then mentioned this to a 'close friend' (read - 'jorno'). This would have been enough to kickstart all of what I belive was misinterpretation by the media.
Not RFC's fault IMO...but who knows, right :-\
