It has been 10 year's ago today since we played North Melbourne on that Friday night at the "G"(after 13 year's in wilderness). You may ask how I remember the date, my son born at 5.30 that night and stuffed the show right up. Least I was able to make it the next Saturday for that GAME. How time flies.

Gee, it's that long ago.

I remember sitting, with Dad, on the couch in the old Long Room watching the game.

It began with Tony Free getting that free kick out of the centre, and Stuart Edwards having a brilliant 1st quarter at FF.

What was it, 8 goals in the first quarter? That was a big year.

You're confused Phanto. ???

Jake was talking about the Tigers first final in 13 years against North and we lost by 5 or so goals .

You're thinking about that Monday night game the same season when we ripped the kangaroos a  new sphincter with a paralysing first term :cutelaugh

Yeh, it was the Monday night match that I thought Jake was talking about.

Went to the first final against North as well. Still remember the banner. It was fantastic.

I remember, we were sitting with Robbie Lamb and his family under cover in the old Western Stand.

We were doing well till Wayne Carey busted the game open in the 2nd half. I remember his deft tap outs at CHF to the North rovers, Rock & Scott, running past.

Game was over after that.

I sure it was a Friday night,

One of the few games i have missed due to a commitment
I never heard a score and caught a taxi home
remember asking the driver what the final score was and he said something like a 10 goal thrashing
i assumed Carey had torn us apart and we got spanked
when he finally told me Tiges had won we thought he must have the teams confused - new australian

i raced home and watched the tape - what a game

How many times did W.Carey bust a game open againist the TIgers? He just used to have one quarter were he would just destroy Turner, WIgney, Bullus anyone in a yellow and black. Was the player of the 90's.

Who didn't he destroy SCOOP, he even destroyed the North Melbourne Football Club and it's supporter's.

Going back over past 10 years is saddening almost excruciating to bear.

Going forward with the knowledge that the RFC still may retain duds (of which there are still a fair few as well as some substandard ordinary players the immediate future apart from the shining lights a;la Tucky, Browny, Richo, Thirsty, Lids, Blinga and Meyer is also saddening to a point.

GET RID OF THE DUDS MILLER AND TW AND GET FAIRDINKUM!!!!!!

I seem to recall that Wigney had an exceptional record against Carey... I will never forget the bath he gave him on that Monday night match in 95... I was bagging the *smile* out of the North supporters that night. All 36 of them.

I remember the buzz that was the first bounce...
...and the tears on the faces of the RFC kid supporters, heartbroken at seeing our first final in 13 years as a loss. Made this old bloke tear-up too!

I remember much more about the following week!!

Unfortunately, they rushed Wigney back from injury for that final & the result was quite different to that Monday night. :doh

Greg and Terry mightn't have brought us a premiership yet but it's pretty harsh to call them duds and call for the guillotine.

Is FAIRDINKUM a coach or a recruiting manager and where do we get him from? :devilangel

YOU TAKE ME OUT OF CONTEXT DEAR AUNTY ROSALITA :-*

I am very happy with Mesrs Terry (Oh great suntanned one) Wallace and MR GM, however i will love them even more when the RFC is bereft of the duds that currently infest it, and we finally start drafting and trading for quality talent, unlike the past 12 years apart from last year of course!! 8)
:hihi :hihi :hihi :hihi :hihi :hihi :hihi

Hope your son had a :birthday yesterday jake.

Isn't it sad that "that GAME" is the game most of us would hang our hat on as a highlight in recent years and it was a decade ago....Geez we're loyal us Tiger supporters.
