PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Great concept, good on the club for trying something bold and worthy of our history as a BIG CLUB. - I just hope the AFL & Carlton gets behind it. Getting 100thousand there would be fantastic publicity for both the Club and the League.

But can the Tiges do it?

I'll start the discussion by one suggestion - I think on big games like this, with long advance warning that it will be bit (similar to ANZAC game) that the league should get planning permission to add additional temporary seating in the MCG to push the General Admittance capacity up and make it much more likely to break the 100k figure (ie not rely on MCC members to turn up etc). I know fire regulations etc are pretty strict nowdays but surely there would, around the ground be room to squeeze in 5,000-8,000 more seats across a few areas, put them up in such a way that it meets safety needs or put extra precautions to compensate. Either way, I dont see why we should not be a bit more creative with the MCG's capacity when it comes to major games.

What do PRE think? Can we get 100G comments in this thread?
