Just reading, AFL offer to Nth Melb worth $100 million. $5m to wipe out their debt, $22m into revenue streams, $10m for investing in non football revenue generating account, $3m for relocation expenses for players, coaches and staff, money to buy back privately owned shares, and marketing and sponsorship support.
AFL and QLD goverment to negoiate stadium deal.
Deadline extended for a few weeks.
Taking into account that there would probably some draft concessions, exclusive drafting/recruiting areas, extra rookies, extra "cost of living"/relocation,etc allowances still to de decided and announced.
Could have an impact on clubs for a few years as AFL would bend over backwards to see Nth/Gold Coast strongly established.
Better get good talent scouts/recruiters out and about as I think draft concessions will mean some early prospects may go as concession picks (if they are granted) and probably extra rookie positions.
Lotta dough going out, impact on drafting as well.
What are your thoughts...
