Queenslands Sunday Mail says today that Richmond is 7th favorite to win the AFL flag at $17, behind Geel, Haw, WB, Coll, StK & Carl.
Anybody willing to put a lazy $5 on that?

Wait until Collingwood pump us. We'll balloon to $25.

Personally, I think waiting is good advice. Even if we start the season really well, we might come into $12. Like if we win our first 8 games. But when we don't we will hold at that level at best, or more likely drift out, especially if the Carlton and Collingwood fire out of the blocks.

If the Blues and Pies arc up, I think the weight of money being held by the bookies will mandate us drifiting out to better odds as they try to balance their books.

Sage advice. We are still a long way from anyone, especially the bookies, taking us seriously.

There are a number of much better sides ahead of us this year. Hawks, cats, saints, dogs, dare I say it carlton in some respects (they have a big power forward who's the best kick Ive and the best player in the land). I still don't rate collingwood.

I struggle to see how people can rate Carlton so highly. I think people are believing the hype eminating out of Princess Park. It's amusing to hear a lot of people say CFC had a good year last year, better than ours. It's even funnier when you point out CFC ended below us on the ladder.

In saying that, I am more than happy for CFC to be put on a pedestal. Much happier for us to have less attention.

Agree...also don't rate the Saints. Hawks and Cats are clearly ahead. Doggies we are pretty close to. Tankers are on par. Expect some challengers from behind us as well...Lions, Port and Dockers in particular.

I rate the Blues with their full-strength team in. I don't know if they have the depth behind that though.

Carlton got caught out last year with a one-dimensional forward line. While they will probably have a midfield up there with the best in 2009, I don't think they've addressed the forward line issue.

Anyone know if someone is offering odds on who finishes higher Rich or Carl? I reckon that'd be worth a punt.

If they can get Warnock on the park then they can afford to play Kruezer up forward for the majority of games. He will be difficult to match up on this year.

Totally agree Baloo. But they do seem to attract a lot of money in the betting books, so there is no doubt that will put us at juicy odds regardless of how well we start the season.

agree. they have only 1 quality forward, no defenders and while their midfield has awesome potential, they lack our depth.

I took the odds of 17-1 on any Tiger player to win the Brownlow. Richo, Lids, Foley and the Cuz would poll well if we made the finals. Not sure what the odds are now though

once again. Given what I have heard from inside the club, Deledio would be the only chance
