My father inlaw has just given me the actual herald sun grand final souvenir. Helping his father rearange things found it folded up with other items, Knowing i love me tiges he sent it over with the Minester for war (thats the wife)

color page has three large Photos, captain Fred Swift breaking through the banner, my father inlaw played under him at Corowa in the O&M and always spoke very highly of him

secound has Mike Pattersson in a ruck dual against 2 geelong opponents

Third is KB with what only can be described as glorious blond or redish locks, the photo caption says Richmond rover Kevin Bartlett is tackled by geelong ruckman bill ryan as he tries to send his side into attack. The photo shows KB with Ryan with both hands holding kbs arms u can see that kb is about to do the arm back thing no ball in sight, Yah got a believe free kick to KB

And apparently u could get 5 petrols from the one pump with BPs super mix (all petrols are benzol powered)

Also have got the original front and back page cover has the players running lap of honour as full page, also Gunman holds tab girl hostage (see page three)

Page 2 and59 have assorted photos main one of Fred swift with headline of the day richmond belonged to him, with Fred wearing the mayoral robes

Back page 60 headline mark of the day shows royce hart Absolute screamer here is what is written

This fantastic leap by Royce Hart, who was playing center-half-forward at the time was undoubtedly the mark of the day. He came from behind, "flew" over geelong half-back Peter Walker, held the ball safely and crashed to the ground when his foot was caught behind walkers neck. Hart was not injured by the fall and he proved this at the celebration dinner when he danced with miss Cheryl Collins. He couldn't be injured to do the twister.

It then shows him dancing with miss Collins might i say he looks as stiff and uncomfortable on a dance floor as i do

Yeah, here's hoping it's sooner rather than later. Go Tiges

This game was on ABC's Late Night Legends a while ago and I got sucked into watching it for the last quarter.

Its amazing how much the game has changed - some say for the better, others say for the worse.

It was still great to watch a game like that - its great that the ABC keep putting those sort of things to air.

Wow thanks for the memories Chaz, I was nine and I cut out the colour photos and stuck em on my wardrobe. Yes still remember that photo of the boundary throw in and Swampy against two kittycats ...and the strange BP bowser but I liked the old Golden Fleece petrol stations. :)

Eleven years old and the year I first jumped onto the Tigers.
Grew up on the Bellarine penninsula and virtually every one was a cats supporter in those days.
Even as a little tacker I was a large enough *smile* to seriously hang *smile* on a bunch of very unhappy cats mates and family.

Nice one TM, Hope ya gave 'em heaps. :)
I was only five so can't remember a lot. But don'y worry the next four are crystal clear ;)

I actually got a copy of the '67 grand final on DVD for christmas. I bought it through the PRE link!

It was such a different game back then (not even considering the fact that we were such a good team).

I've got the '73 and '74 (& '72 :-X) Herald souvenirs. Haven't seen them for many years as they're in a cupboard at Mum's place which has been walled up with piles of textiles. If I ever get them out, will come back to this thread and post what's on them, and maybe scan a few of the photos.

Got a footy quotes book for xmas last year, one quote from Polly Farmer 'I really don't want to leave this alone because i think it's unfair. I know in my own mind -because I've watched the film 100 times - that we were robbed.' The Sunday Age (2004).

This bloke is carrying some freight, nearly 30 years ago.

Polly Farmer well deserves the title GW3CF awarded for the Greatest Whinger in 3 Centuries of Football
