u must have yr machine on pause. click play!
:clap :clap very good 6pack not talking about ability he just seems to lope along like the ghost used to ,the main differance between the two is the ghost got to the ball or his opponent thats what i want schulz to take on

No, I reckon the 1980 team would only just beat the 2008 team.

I mean, most of those blokes are in their fifties after all.

this may sound weird but watching the sarge play on the odd occasion that he put in he dose move a little bit like the Ghost did, someone please give him a highlights tape of the Ghost to model his endevour and game on. :headscratch

You cant be serious. Sarge would not rate next to Emmit Dunn or Greg Strachan let alone Jimmy Jess. The Ghost was one of the key defenders in the comp in 1980, Schulz can't get a regular game with the bottom side who are short of KPPs.

Even Sarge's beard is but a pale imitation...

If players are graded as A-graders, B-graders, C and D. The 1980 premiership teams had over a dozen A-graders, todays team probably 2. No contest, 1980 by a country mile. BTW, most respected commentators considered our 1974 team amongst the greatest of all time, but IMHO the 1980 had the killer instinct.

1980 team would kill the bunch of netballers running around these days

Realistically alot has changed in 28 years. Head to head teams of the late 70s early 80s would struggle to compete with today's teams. Players then were tough as nails but the pre-requisites have changed immensely. Also have to remember there were only 12 teams of 20 players then = 240 players whereas now there is 16 x 22 = 352. That's 112 players who are playing now who wouldn't have got a game if it was still like then.
