1st 1/3 of The Season

I think pretty much everyone would have taken 4-4 after 8 rounds if it were offered at the start of the season. The 2nd half of the season is a better draw for Richmond and some players will return from injury, coupled with the improvement from some of the younger ones it could be a strong showing. I'm still not expecting finals, but the side is improving and it's showing.

I am wrappped at being 4-4 , considering the tough draw and our performance in round 1 a 1-7 or even a 8-0 ledger looked a real propability.
As for playing finals well lets just wait and see .

Extremely happy i said and was ridiculed that if we were 2-4 after 6 we'd make the 8 we are a fair chance from here. Having played 35 means only five haven't played senior football off our original list as Humm was elevated after Thirsty's injury. Would they be Limbach, Casserly, Chaffey, White & Moore? Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

Way, way ahaed of where I thought we would be win wise.

I thought we would be 1-7 maybe 2-6. 4-4 is a dream start considering the amount of injuries to key players.

Kids, getting exposure to the big time and not looking bad at all.

Terry Wallace winning the media battle againist most foes.

ANything more then 9-10 wins for the year would be a bonus, this is a building year.

Vs Bulldogs-Thought we were at least a good chance :o
Vs Saints-An expected loss
Vs West Coast-Over there an expected loss
Vs Brisbane-40/60 chance considering the travel factor.
Vs Carlton-Expected win
Vs Essendon-Expected win
Vs Sydney-Was confident of winning this one.Have a good record against the swans :o
Vs Crows-Marked it down as another loss.Made up for the swans loss.

Overall with the suprise win over the crows we are probally just ahead of my expections of where we would be at.
With the next 2 games away against Geelong,Freo and then a home game against the Roos at the G i expect us to be 5-6 at the half way mark. Not a bad effort considering the tough draw. With our percentage so poor we would probally have to win 12 games to make the finals. Not out of the question if you consider our "softer" draw on the way home.

4-4 is much better than 8-zip!

But let's not go on a downer if we get beat at Skull Stadium. Let's remain optimistic and enjoy the kids.

If PRE is positive then maybe RFC will be too! ;D

And to think if we had beaten the saints, like we should have, then we would be 5-3. Aside from that, having a great season and great to see all the young guys getting a game. It only leaves White, Limbach and Casserly to debut. Well done TW and RFC :clap

It has been a terrific effort so far. :clap :clap :clap :clap

The thought of injuries and players unavailable doesn't fill me with as much trepidation as it did over the past few years, as it seems we have more depth to cover them.

It has certainly made for a few enjoyable days at the footy, esp beating Ess and Carlton- Adelaide was pretty good too.

Before we get too excited, we have won 4 out of the last five games but been outscored by 16 goals over this period. This hardly constitutes a golden era.

I am pleased that we have squeezed a few wins, loved having the bragging rights for a few games, am really pleased that the younger players are coming on but it will be even better when we win a few games convincingly.

Said it once and i will say it a million times - The KIds Bring on the Kids which TW is doing now, which is great, because it adds freshness and excitement to the side and actually makes it more enjoyable for me to watch them, as i couldnt stomache watching a side full of the same old you know whats running around every week doing the same old crap, now i just watch the youngsters and ignore those that i would rather see gone completely. Tis a happy medium and is good.

Results dont mean anything for me this year i am just looking forward to watching the efforts of our young guns and watching them developing week in week out. Thats exciting enough as far as i am concerned. ;)

I consistently thought we could be 3 & 3, then 4 & 4 - though I'm not certain I believed myself (I also sometimes sit cross-legged, rocking back & forth muttering 'red-rum...red-rum')

next 4 weeks are crucial. if we win the games we should win (hawks & kangas) and also sneak one against cats or dockers, which is very possible, then we will be 7-5 with a good run coming.

Gee whiz you guys have some high expectations.

We lost to the Dons badly in the pre-season, and lost to Carlton last year. 1-7 was my expectation.

Now I note that we have should wins against the Kangas and the Hawks. Fact, we seem to get up against the hawks but never by much at all and we lost to them again inthe pre-season. As for the Kangas we never beat them (I know I loathe the team and my mates are diehard roo supporters - groan)
