Thanks to the bananas support of the torch relay, Tibetans from across the country are planning to descend on Canberra to peel the bananas. This is because while they accept the Chinese like bananas, they think their cultural preference for peaches is being persecuted and discriminated against by the pro-banana Chinese.
Hearing this threat of violence against the bananas, thousands of Chinese students from Sydney and Melbourne are coming to Canberra to protect the bananas. They claim that Tibet gets free bananas, so they don't get what the problem is, and who likes peaches anyway. As for the reaction in the West, the students say it is racism that is making people angry with the bananas, and that people are afraid if China becomes powerful they will bogart the world's banana supply, leaving us all with those dodgy red apples which taste funny when you eat them.
