The main thing I hate about the GF is obvious. Richmond are never there.
The second is the 'entertainment' provided. The blatant promotion of network 'stars', in particular, australian idol contestants, 'singing' is cringeworthy. The AFL refuse to have the little league and other traditional events at the GF because it's 'embarrassing' to them when shown on a world stage. Maybe someone should show them 'highlights' of previous efforts at providing the entertainment so they know exactly what embarrassing is.
I am not bagging all the entertainers, and I believe there are some good acts this year, and in the past. But the ones that stick out are the bad ones, again, specifically, australian idol. One bonus in the new tv rights agreement is that Ten will now alternate the GF with Seven, meaning less of that cr@p being shown. However, I have a horrible feeling that Seven might resurrect 'Popstars' just to try and outdo Ten on the cringe factor.
Anyone else agree? Or am I just taking my personal feelings against a certain show too far?
