In the last 2 weeks I have seen a team wearing the black with a yellow sash actually give up. In the final term against the Swans last Saturday night and in the final term today the yellow and black players were just going through the motions. Mentally they are shot, physically they are weak and of football skills they have little.

This could not be a team that represents the great Richmond Football Club - for the tradition of that club is "if we're behind well never mind we'll fight and fight and win"

Getting done by big margins is hard enough for all Tigers to swallow - but the players - senior players at that - giving up, throwing the towel in during the last quarter of the last 2 games is just not on! That has to be punished by being permanently exiled from the club. Stop the rot - get rid of 'em.

My opinion only.....RT

I didnt see it that way RT but I did see a bunch of boys playing men.

I cant say i thought the guys gave up today as they were easily beaten and outclassed and outmuscled all day but a few didnt put in and do the work required especially when such efforts would not be to their own direct benefit.

JOEL BOWDEN and KAYNE PETTIFER im talking about you two.

I dont think the boys chucked it in. The youngsters had a go i thought.

I don't think they gave up, they would have lost by more if they had.

In the last quarter I saw Pettifer, Bowden, Tivendale (when he came back on), Newman , Polak, Johnson and even Brown not chase when their opponent was running with the ball - hence it became a training drill for the Cats for most of the last quarter. Our senior players stopped and simply gave up the game................

Just 2 weeks

Try 22 years

Agree with you to a certain degree RT. I think this group has 2 main things going against it. No.1 is collectively they are not physically strong and fit enough to run out a game of AFL footy. No.2, and the more worrying to me, is they seem mentally fragile. The last 2 weeks we have been competitive until about half way through the 3rd quarter and when a couple of things have gone against us you just sense that the fire, the will to try and try again just drops off. Its as if they just accept its not going to be their day and accept defeat without wanting to fight it out and try and turn things around. That for mine is something that will be harder to overcome for the club as a whole as opposed to bulking up players and improving their fitness levels.

I would rather be a Tiger supporter than a demons supporter atm, they have a lot more pain to go imo. Their list is older & less advanced than ours. We might not be very good, but we beat them & we had only had a draw at the time. They have a lot more passengers than us.

I said this weeks ago and was howled down. How often do we see players not doing the things that even junior players do. Kids as young as 11 want the ball and will chase and chase. How many times this year have we seen the senior players not do the things that should be natural? The chase, the harassing, the heavy work. Leading the way for the younger players who will do what is required. Our senior corp players, the ones that everyone talks up week after week are simply weak and dont believe in the words of the song and in tunr dont believe in the jumper.

Guy's, guy's
Is this normal game behaviour for these players? NO.........they have had enough of the double standards and spin by TW and his mates.
Look how freddy fittler has turned round the roosters, and he has the same sqaud.
It is about respect, and March needs to be as ruthless with Terry as he has been with Gasp and others

I think Tivendale can be excused for not showing that much fight in the 2nd half. I was surprised to see him even back on the ground. He had to have been concussed. His head really slammed into the ground earlier when he was taken off the park.

I chucked the towel in early and switched from richmond (Fox Sports one) to Ch10 (i think) and watched carlton and collingwood.

draft wise and scoreboard it was more interesting and i'd seen enough of connors and Graeme to keep me happy.
