Re:player of the year-ROUND 1 VOTES

3 Campbell
2 Coughlan
1 Richo

Richo should have been best on ground and won us the game. Maybe if they try some new techniques like making him kick over his head for goal he'd be more accurate. It was embarassing watching his shots on goal. By the third quater I was praying for him just to dribble it out of bounds so that we could keep the ball in the forward line and we'd hopefully rove a goal from a throw in.

Coughlan, tough as nails, hope we see him continue to develop. Needs to be a bit cleaner with his hands. But a genuine presence in the midfield.

Campbell, looked stronger in the clinches than last year, but needs a couple more games to work his stamina up. Continues to try and improve his game and always gives a good account of himself. We won't realise how much we need him until he's gone.

3 - Campbell - A brilliant performance. Really set the example. If only the others played with his intensity and determination.

2 - Stafford - Revealed McKee as the hack we know he is!!!

1 - Coughlan - Hard and tough. Love the way he plays.

Richo was close to a vote, but bad conversion was the killer.

How come Richo can't run in straight or put the ball on the foot properly after so many years of specialised coaching in that dept?

I sometimes think that's part of the problem Rosy. Too many chiefs as they say. He's had Roach & Hudson (to name 2) and both have told him different methods to use. And now we have Stewie Loewe down there who's supposed to be the ruck coach but is actually working with the forwards as well and he wasn't the best set shot I have ever seen.

As for Gas - no doubt he would have slotted every one of them just to make me look like a bigger dill than I probably already am ;D

Re:player of the year-ROUND 1 VOTES

Best advice I have heard on this came from Dermie who said that rather than trying to correct Richo technical deficiencies they should just work with them. ie Richo tendencies to have a hook foot action. That is why he is more reliable outside 40 because he kicks with his natural action rather than trying to use a more technically correct technique which he does when closer to goal.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks as they say.

Couldn't bear to watch it all, but from what I saw:

3- Campbell
2 - Cogs
1 - Gaspar

Richo kept on trying, but I can't give a vote to a CHf / FF who kicks 1.6. That, my friends, is a joke.

too make it fair Rosy, you should only award 3,2,1 for the top three vote getters.

Remember we want to make it easier for Campbell to win. ;D
