We'll make the finals next year. It'll be a walk in the park.

We play 3 teams that made the finals twice, that's any easy run. ::)

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't we sign a deal for CA$H to play 4 home games at Docklands? The AFL has scheduled interstate teams for 3 of 4 home games at Docklands, would you prefer to play them at the G and have Victorian clubs at Telstra? Talk about having your cake and eating it. We've got home games at the G against Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon & Melbourne which we request every year.

The draw is what it is, no conspiracy theories required. We've got some good and some bad as does every club.

Good teams win enough matches to play finals regardless of the draw. We had a very good draw this year and didn't make September.

2006 Draw...Debacle

With momentum having such a huge influence in the AFL today, the 2006 draw handed to the Tigers is horrendous. Without being too pessimistic an 0-4 start by round 4 is possible and a 2-9 record by the halfway mark not out of the question.

That will leave the Tigers in a good position for the 2006 superdraft and thats about it. Will be interesting to see if this worst case scenario eventuates how the club and supporters react. Personally I will be fine as long as we continue to focus on drafting quality kids and seeing positive development of the young players on our list.

Re: 2006 Draw...Debacle

Yep-and only 6 home games at our home groung the "G"
Its a tough draw for us-but the Saints are not much better-7 interstaters!
And ahhhhh Collingwood-check out their draw!!!!-they may have lost their god given right to Friday night(they now have 4-same as us) but they go interstate-only 4 times!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They play 18 of their 22 at MCG or Telstra-is this a protected species or what??????????????????????

From a personal point of view I am very happy with the draw.... Working both Sat and Sundays, prevents me from going to many games, but next year I can see 13 live either on tv or in the flesh.

Am happy with the draw also, because TW does well with his teams on the road. Bulldogs if i remember correctly were good travellers, and this year we played well in all interstate games, which should maybe snatch us a couple of victories next year. Add to that, 4 Friday night games, 9 MCG games which is a rise on this year, home games against Coll, Ess, and carlton, should pull big $$$$.

The Commonwealth Games have obviously played a part in our start away from home, but I think the run home could help us if we are there abouts at round 17-18...

Al, Im' not overly upset by the travelling, it is more the fact when we are in Melbourne, we should be playing our home games at the MCG.
I seem to remember that when the Hawks play their home games in Tassie, they get funds for doing so & that their members are rewarded by an away game at the MCG where they can purchase memberships that entitle them entry to that game- even though it is their away game. So when I look at the draw for 2006 I just think why do we bother with the crap about the RFC brand being yellow & black & the MCG, when we are all over the shop & not being 'compensated' like all the other poor clubs in Melb who happily sold out their supporters to spread the word, we are just the sucker who goes along for the ride.

PS: I am looking forward to the game in Tassie! :D

I agree that we should be also playing more home games at the G, not the Dome. If its a temporary $$ deal that the club has entered then not much we can do about it.

If we can start beating interstate teams on their turf then people will start looking at RFC as a serious threat to the flag.

How many of these will we win

31/3 West Bulldogs TD - don't favour us there.

18/6 Hawthorn AS - not there. 3-4 from 12.
2/7 Collingwood MCG - probably
8/7 Port Adel AAMI - nope
14/7 MelbourneMCG - 50/50
22/7 Sydney SCG - we win the odd one. 4-6 from 16.
