Just picked up the grand final record for this year -some interesting articles-but too much advertising for my likeing. Anyway when you look at all the lists and stats together and compare RFCs experience to other clubs it certainly highlights how much of a lack of it we have
eg players with a 100+ games per club

Adelaide-16
Brisbane-15
Carlton -9
Collingwood-18
Essendon-17
Fremantle-15
Geelong-13
Hawthorn-9
Kangaroos-14
Melbourne-16
Port Adelaide-14
Richmond-10 (subtract Stafford,Kellaway and Chaffey)-7
StKilda-13
Sydney-14
West Coast-16
Western Bulldogs-11

+ 24 on a list of 43 with 50 games or less!!

The other thing that stands out like the perverbial dogs b@lls is the size ot the Lions and Swans lists-running 9 rookies. I think about the pick ups we have had over the last 2 years from our  meagre rookie list and just wonder about the size of advantage it affords these two sides?!

Intrestingly we could only add another 4 to that next year,an not including the delistings we have 20 with under 50 games of expierence so add say another 6 this year thats a lot off inexpierence

I haven't done this exercise, but it would be interesting to count how many each team have of players 22-27yo with 50 -150 games experience, then place them in descending order.

Well, whaddaya waiting for? Chop Chop, if you get straight onto it Phanto I reckon you could knock one out in a couple of hours, neatly formatted of course .
I once took the time to do a similar sort of thing on my footy record when comparing our list to Hawthorns the day Piggy kicked 17.
Sat there in my misery and worked out how many players both clubs had in the 0/25 games 25/50, 50/100, 100/150 etc brackets. The numbers made me want to throw up, they also showed quite starkly why we were getting such a belting. From memory we had Clokey and Flea playing as old age pensioners, a few nearing a hundred and a huge bunch of kids while the Dawks had three distinct groups of about 7 players at 150 plus, 8 at 50/150,and the other 5 under 50 games ( think it was still twenty a game then).
Guess thats where the window of opportunity/timeclock theory comes from. There is a certain point in the development/maturity of a list that allows a club to be in genuine finals contention for three or four years.

A positive imo that we have such a young list and are able to be so competetive, remember Staff and Chaff did not influence the side that much!
