So who do we think will be the real surprise packet of '07?

Hard to go past a bloke who's shown these sort of glimpses. His time has come.

Steamer and Reiwoldt,but in 2008.

if the question is who do i think is gonna have a breakout year then Tambling is looking the goods so far BUT if your asking who's gonna be THE surprise packet for the year then i guess i'd have to choose someone who is way off the radar right?

Edwards.

The really nice thing about those clips is how skinny he looks in all of them, including the ones from last year, compared to the training photos I've seen this pre season.

I think thursfield will have a great year, last year in rounds 1 and 2 he showed a lot of courage and determination and was an absolute stand out against nick reiwoldt until he was injuried, i think he may become one of our key backman in the future. ;D

there's no doubt a common theme that everyone thinks this is richies break out year. i'm really hoping he can kick 20+ goals, spend a lot of time on the ball and really use his pace to his advantage

Kelvin Moore for me, I reckon he'll prove all the doubters wrong and show why Terry has shown so much faith in him. In Moore & Thursfield I think we have 2 really athletic key defenders who we can build the defence around.

:banana Good stuff Zero. I am really hoping the same. Would love to see this guy get a lot of games this season so that he can take over the full back possie and then we can put that faithful stalwart gas out to pasture

This is what I am thinking.  Tambling SHOULD be on the verge of having a break out year.  But if I was to look at a surprise packet, I would be looking at Casserly or Thomas to "do a White or Polo"....  If they both can chalk up 10-15 games then we will be on our way.

PS I know Edwards is light, but no lighter than Tambling in his first year.

Thomas? ... Do you mean Edwards?

Since this thread was started I really have been impressed with Shane Edwards an think he may well just have an impact this season

I've gone Foley. With Coughlan out for the year, watch his kid gain more game time and make an impact.

With limited time last year, he showed he can play. This year he will dominate.

"apparently" Shane was touted by many croweaters as the best south australian pick in the draft (behind gibbs of course) and thats ahead of 'whats his face' the ruckman so he really must of had something going for him.

people who watch young players week in week out tend to know what theyre on about.

i got a good feeling in my bones bout this lad as he has all the right attributes you'd want in good midfielders. Endurance, speed and class all in spades.

just needs harnessing and walah...whoever is his president is one lucky dude...oops that'd be me ;D

Quite apart from the usual suspects (Bling and Polak etc) I fully expect Adam Pattison to take a big step forward this year. It may take until the second half of the season, as he will be trust into some big roles if Simmo and the Knob struggle fitness at different times, but this will fire up his self belief as he is forced to combine with Lids, Polo, Tambo and Weeble in a main role.

Oh yeah, and Krak will star too ;D
