2008 All Australian Team

I think Judd gets in the squad on reputation alone. He had a good year and some good patches but not at AA standard. Line him up against Tucky in the second half of the year (by his own admission, Judd struggled with fitness in the first half) and see who had the most impact on their side winning and Tucky comes out in front. Not saying that Tucky should get AA status so much as I think Juddy is not deserving this year. If he gets in the final 22 then we know the selectors think, act and make decisions like gymnastic judges whereby if you don't come from China, USA, Russia or one of the former eastern bloc countries you may as well not enter the competition. The discussion earlier in the year initiated by Gary Lyons about the need to rotate the AA selectors has just gained greater credibility.

Disagree. Both have very similar averages except for contested possessions where Judd has 45% of his possessions are contested compared to Tuck's 39%. Judd deserves All-Australian selection.

Don't think he is good enough, nor did he play well enough. Poor mans Luke McGuane.

when was the last time muscles went forward and banged through a couple from 50?

Pratt is no where near the 22 but deserves a mention in the squad

Just discussing that at work today. I think the media love affair with Griffen appears to be over.

Griffen was playing very well until he's dad got sick and he missed a game or 2, since then hasnt done much

Didn't realise kicking goals was the criteria to be an AA defender.

I reckon Judd has been awesome this year. Went up a notch in my estimation from soon to be champion to total champion. Aside from maybe about 60 minutes on Kirk where he was silenced, he has been unstoppable in the clutch.

His pace is history, his main support comes from the worst number two mid in the game (Nick Receivens) and he has no ruck.

I probably shouldn't go off half cocked here, I mean the bloke has been a total star, a vanilla ripple and a matchwinner, but I haven't checked his dreamteam points (or footycoach or whatever). Maybe Gerard Healy* will have other opinions based on fantasy numbers that summarise games he hasn't seen.

But IMO the best individual performances I have seen this year have been Chris Judd's. Machine.

*Has Healy eaten the cream off that big meringue yet?

I wouldn't say awesome but probably stands out more in the mix of Scumton players than better West Coast players.

Totally agree. Superstar. Best in the league.

Anyone notice late in the Hawks game Judd has a kick 75 meters out on the boundary (after doing something brillant to get the ball) and his kick was a dying up and under job that travelled 40 meters and gave fev no chance?

Perhaps he was just tired, but I did wonder how healthy he is.

It wasn't until this year that i noticed how much contested ball he wins.
From what I can see it's because he's changed his game, he doesn't have the breakaway pace as much any more, so he's become more of a physical inside midfielder.
It's only going to shorten his career
