Rookie members a Tiger skin 1st year 2nd Year Wall flag.

Bronze member cap. Silver, Gold, Platinum and Yellow & Black a scarf.

Sadly, silver also gets a cap - as I look longingly at the pretty scarf! :'(

Cheers!
Ms Tantie.

I agree Ms Tantie - the scarf does look a lot better than another cap - I now have 6 that I dont wear but I would use the scarf - oh well, another cap is ok I guess! ::)

I use to like the "on the bench" membership - the gifts were not bad - one year I got silver drink coasters and a pen, another year I got a lovely heavy Tiger keyring. More imagination needed I think -caps are ok but not every year please! I know they have to have the year on them but maybe just issue one without the year on it so we dont need to receive a new one each year - especially when you dont get to ear them anyway. I am not ungrateful at all but just think it would be nice it the Club varied the gifts a little. :)

Why have gifts at all? membership card would do. Save the club money and expense

that is a much better idea willo - we dont really join for the "gifts" now do we. I would prefer the club give us the membership card and lanyayd and keep the rest of the $$ for player development or some other expense running the club. If we did forgo the gifts then I am sure that the money that would have been spent on those gifts would add up to a sizeable sum and be very handy at Punt Rd! It could even be called the Tiger member development fund.

Great thinking willo - I like the idea and think we need to get the club to listen to that idea I think! :clap

Like your suggestions too Lee, I wonder if there would be any member backlash? Surely majority would be accepting that this money could add up to a sizeable amount and could be better spent.
The last few years I've asked not to receive anything but my card but it keeps coming.
Will try again this year, usually I give it away (unlike some I only have 1 head ;D) to young kids I know, it may convince them to become Tigers

well I will call the club myself and float the idea too - I will also tell them not to send me cap number 7 - most ladies do not wear them that often so it is a waste of Tiger money sending it to me. I dont have many Tiger supporters around me so wont be giving it to them - would much rather the club not produce it so they dont waste that money. I suppose some fans will want their "freebies" but I think a lot more would rather the Tigers spend it on development at the club! Thanks for suggesting this willo - anything that helps the club is worth it :star

I see your points guys.

I used to be on the members forum to come up with these idea's for membership retentions and the rewards are a vital element to entice other richmond supporters.

For passionate members like you guys we understand that you would rather the club keep its money and not provide you with gifts, but the majority want to be rewarded with some sort of merchandise.

This year is my 5th year (would be longer but I missed a year) and I am looking forward to receiving my SILVER members cap.

I see your point Tigerextra - most do want something but for us that really cannot use a 7th cap, surely we could tell the club to not produce our siver/broze/gold cap and keep the proceeds to spend on the club. I know not everyone thinks like us and that's ok - keep giving goodies and attract membership but let us do this small thing if it makes us happy! :spin

Well have you any suggestions T.Ex maybe they can have something on the renewal as to whether you want any gifts, ie tick a box if you want it. If you don't tick it you don't get it, that way the onus is on the member.
I only hope we don't order 30,000 hats and only 500 tick a box ;D be a bit of a waste, ;D

that is a great idea willo - that way you choose if you want it or not and if not it saves the club the expense! I wonder if that is a possibility. This way you have the choice to take it or not. Makes more sense to me as I would much rather have a choice not to take the cap as I dare say it costs the club a bit to produce them and what a waste if you dont really want it. I would rather a tick box saying Yes or No and if you chose no then that money saved for that year should be spent on something for the club and all members advised what they donated to. I love it! :hearton - dont know the logistics of doing that though and I will possibly get screamed down but hey - you still have the choice! :P

This may be an issue depending upon the arrangements they have. Often these things are outsourced now, with everything prepacked and sent in from China or from workshops for the intellectually disabled locally. If this is the case, it will come down to the individual unit cost of the item versus the cost of splitting arrangements.

On the otherhand, if its done in-house, its just a management issue.

Just thought of one other thing two, this would all be done via database, and no database is 100% accurate. It may mean you get niggly agro from members who don't receive their trinkets, which can be agro from a customer service point of view you wish to avoid.

Not ragging on your idea by the way (I actually like it), just agreeing with your assumption it may need to be evaluated first.
