2008 Nat Draft thread

If you'd seen Gaertner play Craigos you'd know his skills are deplorable. He's very athletic and tall but you wouldn;t want him to get the ball because then he'd have to dispose of it.

Then that would probably be the reason the kids been overlooked twice. And no Foxxy havent seen him play.

Wasnt asking why Tigers didnt take him more interested to see why Saints passed him over again after he was apparantly marked by them.

Feel for the kid a bit - has to be shattering.

At least no dingbats are calling for Vickery to be our starting ruckman and Post to be our CHB by the end of 2009.

Agree. We shouldn't be waiting until the end of 2009, these guys are ready to step up now.

I think Vickery is ready to take on Charman on now, put him in as first ruck immediately!

I just don't get why Hislop would not have been there with a later pick, I mean with a price on his head surely we could have got McCullough (sp?) and then Hislop.

You cannot put a price on ur head for the ND, only for the PSD...if that was the case players touted top 10 or top 30 for that matter could just negotiate with wealthier clubs and reach their preferred destination....

I watched the Foxtel repackaged draft review and when they showed richmond with 3 pics admittingly i thought one more pic would've been better but to hear FJ say we still have a pic in the PSD (believed to be pic 6) at least thats 4 youngsters all up + thompson pic 42 (22 yrs old) taking it to 5 players all up.

Obviously had we used pic 70 the club had stated that they were not going to participate in the PSD...

Not quite sure that's right AT. I think its termed a category 1 form, where a player that has previously been listed can name his terms and enter the ND or PSD
