2008 Rookies

What was the situation with Beau Wilkes (I think) from West Coast last year?

For some reason I remember West Coast reserving him before the rookie draft, as he'd been on their list that year. Why was that? And could we use the same method for Casserly?
He'd been on their rookie list for two years. The new rule is you can keep a rookie for a 3rd year, but you need to delist him and let him go through the ND & PSD and then if he doens't get picked up you can reserve them with your last rookie pick.
We did the same thing with Howat for some reason

Howat must be de-listed.....

....so we can draft him on the PSD! ;)

Otherwise only Collard and Cartledge to be kept.

Bowden and Richo will be vets won't they and occupying two of the six rookie spots.

Would Sugar and Simmo be on the list too? I thought Vet list was separate to rookie list.

Im pretty sure every club gets 2 extra rookie selections because of the Gold Coast team coming in.

Those 2 haven't been with us long enough. But I think it works like this, a mixture of vets and rookies outside the main list. The more vets you have the less rookies. Total number was 6(?)

You can have more than 2 vets (10 years service to that club) but the percentage you claim outside the tpp drops. ie 2 vets at 100% 3 at 66.6% 4 at 50%.
If say you had 4 vets and claimed 50% of their salary exempt from tpp you could only have 2 rookies (non-victorian clubs have extra rookies or at least swans and bris do)

If you only had 1 vet, allowed 5 rookies, no vets 6 rookies. This year clubs are allowed an extra 2 rookie spots because of the GC coming in.

I hope this is right and is clear (as mud ;D) enough.

Howat is gone.

Silvester will be kept.

Cartledge and Collard to be decided after the trade period, and in Collard's case, when he gets back from his break (if he's let himself go, we will let him go)

Fact or opinion?

oh boy they are dumb mothers at the club. said regularly that wilkes should be either psded or rookied. but no, according to the nuffas there wasnt anything decent out there so we went with the feel good stories instead, like sylvestor and howat.
it was the same with michael johnson. and i have to say theres another i like delisted eagle james thompson still only 20 and i reckon just needs a little time.

omg miller is still there this can be the only thing that explains this.

The rooky draft is going to be very important to us this year.
We must take all 4 places 3 if collard stays on.

That will be only 6 new kids to the club next year as i see it.

Hopefully Sylvester, Howat and Cartledge will be dropped.

Keep Collard and max out the rest of the rookie slots.

We are not an appeasement society for Coburg.

RFC needs must come first.
