2008 Team List

I presume with only 4 spots available and the fact we nominated 4 selections in the ND, we won't be using the Pre Season Draft pick???
Not neccessarily. It could mean 1 other player is about to be shown the door.

We're only using 3 picks and saving the other for the pre-season draft.

this is for craig and claw,

firstly Craig:

you rave on about duds and list management then complain that the club turns over the list of players that they did this year, what did you want to do keep them? just because there are probably 4 players left on your hit list you carry on - those 4 players all have mature bodies which will be needed at the end of a long year

Claw

you claim our list is worse now than when Miller took over, you have got to be joking
i challenge you to put up the 2 lists side by side and lets compare, if you are right then fair enough but i disagree at this stage, and yes i know you will claim that you mean worse off in structure but if you talk about blokes like hall, gaspar etc then i know you are on drugs

Trust me Tango i have absolutely no complaints with those that have been delisted none at all in fact i agree with every single one of em.

What i am miffed at is the retention of Hyde, Moore and Schulz not being traded especially after he requested to be traded so we knocked back a handy draft pick for a very poor performer lets be honest and in effect forced him to stay at the club when he wanted out.

All 3 of these guys arent taking RFC anywhere and have already been at the club too long.

This trade period has really dissapointed me alot and to be honest ive lost alot interest in this draft cos we know Cotchin or Morton are #2, Richards and Silvester will also most likely be taken so imo im only waiting to see whether or not they actually put pick 18 to best use for the list structure.

So you add Hyde,Moore and Shultz to the delist list Craig who you going to replace them with?
All 3 have one more year to perform or they are out.You have to take into account the list/depth as well Craig. We have a heap of kids who no doubt will get their turn ahead of the above if they perform. Not to mention looking fwd to the end of next year when we have to delist a certain amount to participate in the draft. With the above 3 on the list it makes it less painfull ;)

craig,

think you will find that schulz will become a full back, releasin g thirsty to 3rd tall or CHB if polak goes fwd
schulz has the aggression and skills to play FB he just needs the right attitude and commitment - i think you will see a differeant player next year - wortst case he is a back up tall if someone goes down (remember veevryone has been complaining about our lack of back up options)

Moore may just blossum next year, he has good size and pace, yes i agree we have been waiting for him to come on for a long time (at worst he is also a good back up for a medium defender)

Hyde is purley just a back up runner, has shown glimpses that he can kick goals if left unchecked in the fwd line but lacks class as a mid, purely left on the list as a mature body back up

In summary:
*smile* is tall and young and has some talent (if he clicks he can fill a much needed spot in the back half) IMO much better than anything we would have picked up at 28 if the deal had of been done, can also cover a FWd spot if someone goes down, we have put 5 years into Jay and you dont throw that away on a tall

Moore and Hyde are on their last legs, we have a team of young skinny kids (all better than these 2) BUT kids get injured and knocked around and cannot see the season out, both are mature bodies that can play a role until the kids get bigger, suggest they will get cut next year in a better draft

how manysenior games did hyde moore and schulz play this yr. if we cop injuries next yr and play any of those 3 in front of kids we will effectively be hindering player development.hyde in particular will be in his 8th yr hes struggling to get a game we have many kids at various stages of development who are similar you would be loathe to even call him a depth player.

This is a good old Bright side V Dark side battle.

Based on the team performance over the last few years I would say the dark side is right!

Tivendale in particular should be gone, Schulz should be traded, Hyde I would keep.
