Good to see Brendon Gale is still involved with the club.

What a stunning mix of a couple of champions, good honest triers, perennial underachievers, and straight up duds. The mentors are about the same as well. ;)

nice to see andy kellaway mentoring mr rance!
look out for some bone crushing backing into oncoming packs!

Isn't it? He's mentoring the right player too. I've always been a bit annoyed with the club they didn't give Patto the number 25

Might teach him to mark? ;)

What's Vickery going to learn from Todd Menegola? Similarly Howat with Schulz.

They must have been unbelievably successful in some field/business away from football because as ex-players (and average ones at that), I can't see what they can offer. This is especially true when you see Sheedy mentoring Cousins; Free with Dan Connors and many of the others where there seems to be a better logic.

I reckon Jay could learn a lot from Howat's approach on the training track. If Sarge got as much much from his talent as Howat did he's be a a much better player.

Only the other day I was thinking about David Honeybunn.

"Honeybunn kicks...Honeybunn goals!" is from a match we played against Carlton one year. Has always stuck in my memory.

Also on the Schulz-Jon Howat partnership, I think you have to be very suspicious of a man who's name is made up of JON and HOWAT... (cheap joke)

No Sheedy? I thought he may have asked for a special project - JON, Jacko, Raines, Edwards...

By the way, I loved reading what Francis Bourke had to say about Richo in the Tigers mag. Seems very genuine. On the other hand, I thought that my childhood hero (Royce) was just a little churlish.

A very interesting mix. Patto and Hislop have appropriate mentors. Good to see some of the faces back at the club.

I would have thought Barry Young would be better than say Todd Menegola. Thats one that flabbergasts me on the face of it especially for a first year player.

Lets just say BY would stuggle to understand the word empathy.

Which would make the mentoring process a little difficult.
