PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

I'm not usually one to get involved in team selection or list management threads, so go easy on me, but I was looking through the list yesterday and thinking about what it would look like in 3 years.

We have some key retirements by then (Simmo, Brown, Bowden, Richo, Johnson and Cogs will be gone or on their last legs), and it's not too hard to come up with 9 delistings while sparing some of the youngsters who haven't completed their apprenticeships yet. Some of these, of course, won't make it or will be merely as competent as the players they are replacing.

The bottom line is that I put together a best 22 and 6 depth players, but there are question marks all over the park. And my best 22 even included two speculative recruits (capitalised)!

Anyway, here goes.

B King HURLEY Thursfield
HB Polo? Rance Newman
C Connors Cotchin Tambling
HF Edwards Riewoldt Morton
F Putt? Hughes? Collard?
R WARNOCK Deledio Foley

IC Patto Collins? JON? McMahon (he'll still be in the team to annoy you all ;D)

Depth: Moore?, Schulz?, Gourdis, White, Casserly?, Graham?

Of course, in that time we'll recruit 10-11 other kids + rookies and typically make 2-3 other trades. And I'm assuming that Hurley will last to pick 4-6 and we'll trade our second pick and maybe a WA player (Polak!!!) for Warnock (we desperately need a ruckman). And maybe we can give the Gold Coast our Queenslanders for a late first round pick.

Anyway, I'm rambling, but it's now mid-way through the season so list speculation is once again fair game! >:D
