2011 - National U18 Champs

Why not just draft Sam Kerridge? Good ball winner, racks up touches, tackles, kicks goals, fast but struggles hitting targets from all reports. Sounds like an ideal Dangerfield replacement.

Ok, now you are really starting to worry me. You are making far to much sense.

Will I don't see him as a Dangerfield type, I rate this kid. His kicking is more then serviceable but not elite. He reminds me a little of Anthony Morabito. Big body, burst of pace away from the contest and powerful through the hips. His a body built to be a clearance football. Is a terrific leader as well. Also did well when he came up the VFL for Bendigo. If that form was for Norwood or Claremont this kid would get talked up a lot more.

If we could jag one of Brandon Ellis or Sam Kerridge with our second pick it would be a great result.

What do u think of Verrier as a 3rd rounder?

Pity Kerridge got the call up to the draft combine. He'll move up a bit if he tests well.

I've made sense all along, it's just taken you a while to catch on. ;D

Don't know enough about him. I don't have a huge amount of intel on the WA Boys. Maybe Streaker can help. But I agree with you that we are screaming out for that type of footballer.

I really like Sam Dwyer at Port Melbourne. Got me stuffed we he can't get a look in. I like Seb Ross as a third rounder as well. Loverly left shoe and could start off as the half froward we need and work his way into the midfield.

As long as the names Tambling, Hislop, Jackson, White or McGuane aren't involved you go allright. ;D

Yer he certianly seems the type of player as a run & carry type. Looks like he will fill out to a good size. Deledio type build. About 7 clubs including us are interested as 4th rounders. Unfortunately Lions & Crows are 2 of them.

What would be the highest pick you would use on him?

3rd rounder. I think their are better options available ahead of that. Another is Cameron Ellis-Yolmen. Big inside midfielder. Ave.30 touches & 5 clearances in under18 SANFL.

Dont reckon Ellis will get to our 2nd pick scoop. Id have him with our first if Greene is gone

The Greene love is misplaced in my view. An ho hum footballer with good ball winning ability but lacks any standout qualities and in particular speed and pentration in his kicking. Can't see us picking him up at 14 and suspect he will drop further than some internet experts are currently predicting.

Yeah, maybe. At 14 there is no one who I can pinpoint will be there. It's more a hope of one slipping. Dom Tyson is the one I most like but there is no chance of him being there. Behind Patton, I have him second overall on my board. I still think we can get one of , Grigg, Kavangh, Hoskin-Elliot, Sumner, Crozier. I don't mind that. If they were all gone I would take Ellis over Greene but I would hope that someone else would be ahead of them.

Where do u rate McKenzie as a prospect? A lot of mock drafts have him going to us.

Agree on the kick penetration front but think he has adequate pace for the role he plays. He reminds me a lot of Cogs with probably slightly better pace.

I watched the U18 champs games again yesterday (albeit under the influence of a couple of panadeine forte).

Reinforced that, for our needs, would love to get Tyson or Grigg. Failing that, maybe Hoskin-Elliott but have concerns about his kicking accuracy and his abiliy to put on body size (has a Cale Morton like physique to me).

Brad McKenzie For me.Nice size and good by foot.
HB:Bachelor,...........,Mckenzie

If we can get some size into the above 2 and Grimes our backline all of a sudden wouldn,t look that bad.

I think its the logical choice provided none of the main ones slip. Docherty is a likely type too. Great skills though not as good as McKenzie but far quicker than McKenzie

Sorry i meant McKenzie's kicking is better but not in that sort of extreme. Docherty is a gun and quicker than McKenzie. I'm wondering if McKenzie will be too similar to Batchelor.

So many question marks at pick 14 on all players suggested save from Grigg which is doubtful.

I am not a huge Greene fan.

He is okay. Good citizen. Wouldn't complain in getting him, just do not think he is anything special. Then again, players develop differently in AFL environments so who knows.

How does Greene compare to a Bastinac type in terms of talent? Around the same level, better, worse?
