2022 Draft Thread

Would it be a strategy discussion if I said let's get rid of Clarke and replace him with Kinnear Beatson or Jason Taylor? :)
Imagine having the ability to double dip in the draft. take whoever you like in the open pool & when someone picks someone else you like u jump the que & grab them as well.

Good Call Bengal, he is the one I am hoping for as well. If he works out it will give Gibcus more of a chance to develop as a forward. Being a Victorian is also a bonus as the go home factor seems to be growing.
I think if he's there we would take him ,with turtle Tarrant coming to a end, it's a perfect time to give a young player a year to develop.
He's not a bad player,he's quite athletic and can take a decent clunk, his biggest problem up forward is he doesn't get involved enough .
If we took him it wouldn't be a bad pick ,give him a year or so to work on his game .

Im thinking if Van Es was there we would take him ,the other's could be Phoenix Foster ,Will Verall,,Petric,Oliver Northam ,but knowing the Tigers we will end up picking smalls .

I'm a Northam guy. He competes. He is physical and he wants to get involved. This is the biggest thing for rucks. Super raw. Smaller Sam Draper.

But he is 195cm. That's not big. It's more key position player. I'd still be keen to get him into the club. Perfect rookie.

Yeah he is aggressive ,and has a good leap ,l liked him a lot earlier in the year ,but they haven't played him enough up forward .

Darcy Edmends for you Scoop De Ville. Nice foot skills. Clean possession gatherer.

You would think he would be gone before our pick, even with the Lions picks going and maybe a couple of F/S ,we will probably won't start till around pick 46

Im wondering were Hugh Bond will go,he was impressive playing off hb for Vic country ,shut his opponent down, while also getting involved .

Bont ran a 3.14 for a bit of historical reference.

Cotchy similar i reckon.

I think the only real use of testing numbers,

Is to check if a player has ben lennon athleticism

1. Find a footballer by watching footy games

2. Verify they arent athletically sloth

If you look at top 10s over the years, i suspect the majority of blokes (>50%) never played a game

Super competitive player. Can play on ball obviously, as well.

Kicking though Bungal ?
His kicking is alright ,he can hit a target  yeah he can play midfield ,but geez he was impressive off the hb,he wins the ball, but also shuts his opponent down, and can run all day.

Top ranked player for contested possessions, a whopping 68%, that is a fair statistic considering he averaged 12.7 disposals in the NAB league & 10 at the state carnival. Height a slight worry, probably 5cm off being a genuine ruck. Point of reference? Really struggling, the first bloke who came to mind was Adam Pattison.

Yeah Cotch and Bont are gliders more than sprinters.

The best testing areas to look at are maybe the Agility Test, Yo-Yo Test and Beep Test. They seem to be the tests that have a few good AFL names to them.
