2022 Draft Thread

I will confess that I was turned off both Bont & Cripps due to running data, particularly speed, have since disregarded most of this information. Priddis I think ran a hideously slow time, another example of the dangers in relying on sprint data.

Does this make the Allan sprint time a bit of a trap?
Not it doesn't make the sprint time a trap if his footy tape shows what he can do on the field.
Like the lists shows there's one or two in each category who have shown they can also play football.

Jackson callow was favoured by a few on here in his draft year. Would anyone take him as a late or rookie pick? I know depth for depth sake is not a good strategy. I’d like to hear you thoughts @bullus_hit

Allan is most likely to be going to the Hawks anyway ;)

Is Caleb poulter any good.

Also went through our vfl listed players and there is several 195-204 cm rucks to forwards vfl listed who can't get a game, all very young.

Old school footballer, probably a tweener & has already been pitted against Max Gawn as an emergency plug & play. I think we would be better grabbing a player like Knobel and investing 4 years of development time.

I don't think he's a good disposer, no problems finding the pill but not the best executioner.

I used to love Allens spearmint leaves, a shame you can't get them anymore, their green frogs were grouse too.
They're at Coles :eyes

Came back a couple of years ago, a big social media push and they brought them back.

Allen's is bringing back childhood fave Spearmint Leaves

Selecting Pickett in the mid season draft has been an outstanding success, and while it's early days, Bauer is looking very promising.
Saving a place on the list for for an experienced player like Pickett or for someone like Bauer who showed good form after not getting drafted the year before is a good strategy, and could dig up a diamond.
It wasn't a reach. Sydney was devastated to miss him with the next pick, and other clubs were keen.

His player type was not a need though particularly if we knew we were getting Banks later on. Kai Lohmann was the pick we should have taken. A classy forward in the Toby Greene mould. We were keen and tried to trade up for him but Brisbane pounced.

Those calling for JVR I think are misplaced. Looks a Jay Schulz type forward at best. It's pointless taking key forwards unless they are top 10 talent. So few make it and those that do are top 10-12.
Exactly my point.
Very few young talls available with records sufficiently advanced to think that any with proven ability, will be on the board at our first pick.
A mature young tall well known to us all would be as good as we could hope for.
For the same reason I also think our recruiting team will leave two selections open for the mid year draft.
We would then be better equipped to get it right.

Connor Ballenden? He did a medical with Hawthorn mid season so he's thereabouts for a second tilt.

Sorry this question has probably been asked before but how many picks do we have and how many players do we need to take to fill our list?.
