2025 Draft Thread

Didn’t really notice him avoiding the contest like McMuffin used to.
Talking of avoiding the contest, Brisbane ws sadly mistaken if they thought they were getting another Norm Smith Medalist when they recruited the snipers nightmare. He is nothing like his brother.
Against Geelong the other night, he was reminding me of Adam Houlihan, who had the happy knack of taking just enough short steps to ensure he didn't arrive at the contest in time to have to compete with an opponent. This head wobbler needs to watch some of his replays before he shoots his mouth off about being the deserved No. 1 draft pick. All I saw was short steps, and a player floating around the outside of the contest hoping for an easy possession to squirt out.
Lauchie Neale going down might be the only reason he keeps his spot in the team. If I was Fagan, i wouldn't be carrying that liability into a cut throat final.
Maybe i'm being harsh. Maybe he's trying to keep his hairdo intact.
I did enjoy the face plant that saw him come up with the Rebel Sports logo paint all over his face.

Agree thought his performance was underwhelming, often loooked like he was watching what his opponent was doing rather then going the ball. He'll become a good player though.

If this is Cam Rayner we're talking about, he'll be 26 next month. I think what he is now is about it

Apart from the headband, what's the knock on Greeves?
I like him. I had a few slows on him last year but have come around to him a bit. He's improved his kicking considerably, is pushing harder and more often to contests, and I reckon he's picked up a yard or too. He can play high half forward if he's needed. He moves better than Smill for mine.

Only thing is we have a few of his type already. But otherwise, yeah, he's easy top 8 or so.

Note: one big knock still. He goes for Geelong. (From the Carji Greeves family.)

...hence the headband.

He's a touch rough around the edges with his link up play, but *smile* Leysy he's an absolute beast.

If his aerobic capacity ever remotely checks out, He's gotta be right in the frame with our first two picks.

He's coming with a late rush Bont and Clayton Oliver style.
He moved well, decent skills and was strong but he didnt look like a man bullying kids- no reason to think he game wouldnt adapt to AFL level. 1 or 2 more good games and he will be a certainty to go high.

Much cleaner than the other package.
He's a big unit. Looks like the other boys feel it when he hits.
Clean hands, looks a good mark.
Is he a reach for the top 10? A couple of good games a lot to gamble on.

Yeah, the vid I put up with 40 disposals, a few comments questioning his foot skills, but I saw a beast around the contest, strong and has good pace for a 196 cm mid/fwd
When they tackle him, he has the strength just to get the hand ball out.

As a couple of draft rankings have highlighted, wouldn't be a Duursma game without some inconsistent kicking. A couple of "floaters" (as the commentator called them) and a turnover or two through the centre of the ground. The latter often coming I reckon from him watching his boot too long rather than looking at his team mate target. Somebody might be able to knock that out of him a bit. Doesn't do it as much with set shots and kicks down the line.

But on the positive side, again some good marking, handballs in tight, and athleticism from him.

I like the combination of Cumming and Phillipou. If we could split one pick and add one of Farrow or Robey to that we have done well even Sharp.

Liked Phillipou but has had a so so back end. Robey is going ahead of him ILO.

If we want Robey reckon we need to take him with either pick 3 or 4. Otherwise forget about landing him.

I love the sound of Robey and he's actually who i'd like, but Lennon's "successful" U18 midfield switch scares me even if they're completely different. Just very late in the season to hope that form will continue on into VFL/AFL
