Do you have a special connection with Cogs, Rosy?- like friend of the family or something, because you always have good updates on him.

One has to remember that OP has a simple effect of significantly reducining power throught the lower abdo and the groin which may in part be a factor in Cogs poor kicking this year, however with his work rate Cogs would rival Simon Black as a player if he had better skills by foot. Sose next season will tell the tale in regard to injury being a factor in his lack of penetration and power by foot.

I think Tucky had a real good year this year, but it's a big call to say it was better than Cogs in 2003. Cogs in 2003 carried our midfield with virtually zero support. Johnson spent most of that season battling with a jammy hammy and Campbell virtually didn't get on the park.

About the only midfielder of note that gave any support was Bowden.

Talking of injuries, i ran into Richo just after the season ended and although all the talk was of his knee injury, he was plastered from elbow to wrist.

Turns out he was also carrying a tendon injury in his arm all season (hence the tape wrapped around his wrist and thumb all year)!

I can't believe what I'm reading.  Get off Cogga's back you buffoons!!!!  All year the kid puts in gutsy performances, but labouring under OP and a crook ankle, is it any wonder his kicking wasn't perfect.

Just to spell his worth out to you, read on......

1st Tackles, 1st handballs, 3rd disposals, 3rd kicks and 5th marks.

And some on here bag him.......defies belief.

Relax Bob.  They are justified comments.  No one doubts Cogs courage, strength, ball-winning ability and all round benefit to the team.  I love Cogs. He is just as open to criticism as any player on our list.  It IS a fact though that Marks kicking isn't up to scratch.  Their seems to be a few untouchables on our list that can't be criticized in any way, whilst others, if they blink wrong get bagged mercilessly.

GO TIGES!!!

Saw Cogs today in the city, must have come straight from the club, wasnt wearing the RFC top but had on the running shorts with bike shorts underneath, looked super fit, wanted to ask him about his foot but I piked it.
If Cogs stays fit for the year,he will get more brownlow votes than any other Tiger player in 06

I would have thought that's an opinion, not a fact. I do agree that in my opinion his kicking has been down, but if he's required ankle surgery then at least he's had an excuse, unlike some who cant kick.

A lot of people seem to forget Cogs has never been the most penetrating kick. Get out some of the old videos and checks out his kicking in his B&F year. But hopefully with a full preseason under his belt it will improve with practise.
