theres far to many self righteous types about now days or should i say politically correct left wing head in the sand wankers. who get upset as soon as someone differs from their opinion and dares to speak the truth.

It's neither self righteous nor politically correct to think it inappropriate to corner and abuse a person who's just going about their own private business.
Lebo has a very loose grasp of reality and a lack common courtesy if he thinks it's his right to get stuck into someone in public simply because they don't play at a standard he expects at the club he barracks for.
In fact it would be such a low act that I suspect Lebo's fabricated the story anyway.

Claw, there is a difference between stating your opinion and making a comment about someones livelyhood. No one here is begrudging Lebo and yourselves rights to make comments about Rory - I mean you've done it all year. Thats fair play.

However the bloke has been delisted, you guys are carrying on like we have found Osama and then Lebo tells this story, which makes it out as if he has no common decency.

I'm not about to make a judgement based on this act - however theres a difference between opinion and insulting people. Hopefully Rory's skin was as thick as his ass and he didn't worry about it anyway. I would definitely hate for someone to tell me that I suck at whatever I've spent my entire life doing.

Claw are you really saying that its the "truth" to attack a bloke who has been a servicable player and done his best on the occasion of his sacking, and that everyone who disagrees is a politically correct left wing wanker.

You and Lebo are losing it.

big hero lebo to call him names behind his back , interesting that you changed your version when lamb 22 pointed this out . seems to me you are full of the sort of stuff that they hose out of a dairy after milking .

rosy this vitrioic attack on a richmond player does this site no credit and would offend most richmond supporters . this is one of the most sickening attacks by a keyboard hero i have read . this site will lose a lot of followers if this sort of diatribe is tolarated .

telstra dome this year against the kangaroos, i saw him near the victory room on the wing. i charged straight up to him got in his face and while laughing and asked "did you get dropped?" he replied that he was injured. i laughed at his face and suggested that nothing changes.

i was calling him a dud as he walked away

I enjoy your posts generally Lebo and I have no problem with you having strong views on players - it's part of supporting a club, but this story paints you as a very small person. Rory wasn't able to contribute much to the club - injuries, ability, it doesn't matter why. The fact is he showed committment, as much as most who play the game and he has my respect for that.

You seem to think the fact he turned his back and walked away suggests he's weak. He did it because he's strong and it would be beneath him to respond to such drivel.

What you recount here is a story that if true rates you close to that lobotomised idiot who spat on Frawley. Lift your game.

Good luck in the future Rory. All anyone can do is make sure they're in a position to get the best from themselves despite the obstacles that come along the way. You can hold your head high mate.

Poor form Lebo.

Disturbing to hear.

That's nearly as bad as spitting on a player, not quite as bad but still a stupid thing to do.

Absolutely the most disgraceful act directed at a Richmond player that has been posted on this site........and this in light of another thread in which the club is urged to show more respect to those players which have been delisted. :o

Good luck to you Rory.....at least you came back after serious injury and had a real crack which was more than many on this site exepected! Your ability to handle disgraceful taunts from neanderthal supporters with what seems to be dignity and grace is to be admired!

My personal opinion is that Lebo's comments are very ordinary. It seems most people who've replied do as well.

I don't really see how it's a moderating issue though or why you think people will leave PRE because of it.

I might be the admin but surely it's up to everyone here to make sure PRE is a site to be proud of. I actually think more would leave the site if I start censoring opinions because I don't like them.

I don't see why you tie the two together RU, other than not being able to give up your old habits of having a dig whenever you can.  ::)

I don't agree with Lebo's comments and I also think the RFC has treated Rory poorly.

It's a real shame that someone who the club has claimed is one of the most popular and best club people there didn't attend the end of season trip OR the Jack Dyer night when he's been at the club so long.

His future has been speculated on even though Rory was told where he stood.  His family have had to deal with questioning and speculation.

The club have said they won't make the announcements until the due date in several weeks yet they announced it to those in attendance on Friday night.  I don't see what was gained by the club denying it in the media when Rory had already been told.

I can't do much about Lebo's opinions or the way the RFC handle player delistings. Neither are moderating issues and I think some people seem to lose sight that this is a discussion forum and I have personal opinions I like to discuss as much as anybody else does.

Rosy....the correlation is that i just think respect should begin when a player first pulls on the yellow and black jumper and not simply when they take it off for the last time.

As indicated by others....official delisting of players too early may have the affect of weakening the clubs bargaining power during the trade period.  Advising the players informally of their status would allow the players agent to make representations to other clubs or alternatively for the player to begin planning for a life post football. Providing informal advice to the player is done in the best interests of the player.

Agreed!  Every member of this forum has the right to voice their opinion.

Seeing you seem to be tying in my opinions in I'll point out I've started several threads about respecting and supporting the players not just the one in regard to delisting announcements. ;)
