1992 video help please

i am looking for a vhs/dvd copy of r22 1992 between richmond v hawthorn at the mcg, i have the tv replay, however, i am after the entire game.

Name a game, or afl video whatever they are called have this game, but i have had too many problems dealing with them in the past.

Re: 1992 video help please

Welcome to PRE langers :)

There have been a lot of changes at Name a Game/Sports delivered. If you really want the game, and nobody here can help you out, you can click on the video link at the bottom of this forum. No one has ever mentioned any issues or poor service with them and from my personal experience the DVDs are sent out promptly. I've never had a problem using them in the last couple of years.

Also if you click on that link to purchase PRE gets a commission. :hihi

Re: 1992 video help please

I logged on to the link below to see if I could get a copy of the 1995 Semi Final (tiges def Ess).

The cost was $39.95!!!! (not including postage)

Obviously a much sought after DVD :)

Does anyone know a better avenue / know where else I can get a more reasonably priced copy?

Thanks in advance.

I'm sure the Underbelly sellers have it at a better price than $39.95....

Langers- I will check my collection and see what I can find for you.

As for any post 1990 games- Name a Game is still your best bet I believe.

What other games are you after ?
Have you got Richmond's last ever match at Punt Road (1964)- vs Hawthorn

I've asked this before (unsuccessfully) but while we're at it I'll have another go.

There was a Richmond v Hawthorn game at the G very early in either 1977 or 1978 (I was there). Great game. Can't remember the details, but either us or Hawthorn kicked 10 in the second quarter (probably them). In the last quarter, Jim Jess kicked three goals in about the last 10 minutes and we won by a point - 19.6 to 17.17 or something like that.

It was the sort of thing that if Malcolm Blight or Neale Daniher did it would be a much more famous match but for some reason this one swung under the radar.

If anyone has ANY of this match on video I would very much like to know. I have enquired at Channels 7 and 2 and got no success. Whenever you ask Channel 7 something like this they tell you all their old football video tapes were re-used - which if true is an absolute disgrace. Didn't those clowns have any sense of history?

Channel 7 did reuse their tapes I can vouch for that.

The match you after is Round 2, April 11th Richmond vs Hawthorn- 1977

Richmond: 1.3 / 11.5 / 14.6 / 19.6. 120
Hawthorn: 4.5 / 5.7 / 11.9 /17.7.119
Attendance: 42,192 @ MCG

The game itself was shown, highlights of it, from 8.30pm that same night.

I can remember being at a Hawthorn game we won by a point at the MCG, not sure if it was this one.

The standout was that when the siren sounded, the scoreboard showed a draw. It was only after the goal umpires consulted that the score was adjusted a couple of minutes later.

Edit: I looked up the records and we beat them by a point in round 8 1968. I think that was more likely the one. Anyone else remember this happening?
