3AW thismorning - RFC to train at Craigieburn

Tiger74 said:
Steve outlined this on SEN tonight.

Two round ovals and one rectangular oval plus facilities.

WIll be for community use, but RFC will use it for pre-season training and when needed during the winter.

He was there today, and took 30 mins roughly to go straight to Punt Road.

Is that like a square circle?

:hihi

first of all i think the craigieburn idea is a brilliant concept and i'm sure most will agree. but the issue i cant get past is that why do we still share punt road with the cricket club? all the other melbourne clubs kicked out their cricket clubs years ago.

We don't own the dirt. Thats the problem, so the only way we can get the RCC out is if they go willingly, and they ain't willing.

This is a better move though, drills on Punt Road were hampered by the lack of space. We now get to drill and practice set pieces on a place the size of the joint we will actually play the game.

Keep us at Punt Road (Sacred ground) but Craigieburn a fantastic proactive move by the club. I will certainly deviating off the bypass from time to time. Well done Stevie WRIGHT!

I had a rant about the club a week or so ago when Eddie everywhere was bullshitting on about moving Scumwoods away interstate games to the gold coast.
Not about us moving but about us not being on the front foot and looking to develop options for us to build and improve the club and get into some sort of strategic growth area first instead of sitting on our arses and stagnating.

I would now like to officially and humbly pull my head right back in.

A great job done by the Admin at the club and the Hume council to set up this facility for the community and link the Tigers into it.

I'll even hoover up the pie crumbs and scrounge up the dribbled gravy bits of this pie willo. Craigieburns just up the road from me, so I'll be able to nip up to training after work for a bit of a looksee.

Just turned into apple pie and cream then TM, good to see The Club took notice of your displeasure and established a training facility close to you. Geez you must have some "pull" mate ;D
