50 Million spectators(?)

I've got bad news for you, Streak. According to the official AFL stats (see link in first post on this thread), Collingwood were the first team to achieve this in 1992. However if you eliminate the 'h&a' criterion, Richmond was the first to break the million in 1972, followed by Collingwood in 1977.
Take the money Streaker we're eliminating the H & A criterion. Stuff the afls' model
We got a million in 1972 from our 1st game to our last game. Game over, tell 'em to pay up. ;D

If only it were that simple.

H&A wins last three years:
32 Collingwood
24 Richmond
21 Essendon
11 Carlton

Carlton and Essendon have been competitive until recently. In the last 25 years we had only two spikes (96 and 01). Not surprisingly we have no leeway now, while the Blues and Dons have some wriggle room.

As for the Pies, they are the Pies and they get the biggest numbers full stop (for TV and crowds).

The three of them could finish 14-16 this year and they'd still play each other twice in 2009. But I can see you're not buying, that's OK. :)
