Why is it, we get so many line ball 50's against us and never get them in return??

The one aginst Johnson in the center?? the player ran over his mark by at least 3m, johnson holds him and gets a 50. :frustration

richo takes "that mark" at the end in front of 60000 cheering fans, plays on after a wistle he thought was for a mark, gets a 50...there is no way he could have known that was a free!! :frustration

Mal Micheal gives away a push to Richo on the boundry line, Plays on and kicks it 40m away, umpire brings it back and NO 50 :frustration

Why don't we get a fair go?? :don't know

That Johnson one was unvelieveble. His opponent (monfries? - its french for my chips) basically ran straight into him, playing on, and Kane instinctively grabbed him. 50m!! Bullsheisen!!!

we got jibbed by the umps all night . >:(

i thought richo would get looked after a little more this year with the new in the back interp. but no! he still gets mugged by the likes of fletcher every week!
i guess you have to have a name like lloyd or hird to get any protection/free ride from the umps 8)

The 50m penalty on Richo just shows how pathetically educated these umpires are.

If the game is at a frenetic level with only minutes left and especially with the roar of the crowd making huge noise all of the ground, how can a player possibly concentrate on a whistle or shout from the umpire ??

The problem is, the same thing happened the other way later in the game and wasnt paid, because the Golden Child was the one who tackled an RFC player.

Umpire the game, not the name.

What about where Tambling got a free against one of the Johnson's i think it was and someone ran over and knocked Bling over as he was getting up and we didnt get a 50. Bling had to go off the ground and didnt even take his kick.

I'm trying to remember exactly when it was, 3rd quarter I think, we got paid a free, a Bombers player kicked the ball away, no 50 metre penalty. Was that the Mal Michael one?

Umpiring rule 32.4 (Section B):

".............and the bottom team on the ladder receives no respect or benefits during the game..........."

There was also the time when Bling was awarded a kick on the wing and Michael blocked him from getting the ball, no 50.

Earlier in the game Polak was leading a Bummer forward for the ball and got an almighty heave in the back that sent him sprawling forward and, I think, this gave Esserden a shot at goal.

I normally try not to complain too much about umpiring decisions but it is getting too blatant that we don't get an even deal.

Wish TW would try a Sheedyism for a change such as our forwards need to be protected from unnecessary infringements, etc.

I know I'm biased, and yes there were some frees we received which were probably not justified, but it was the 50 metre penalties that really got my goat last night.

Everyone is thinking this ... How would of Richo heard the wistle when there was 62,000 screaming supporters. RIDICULOUS!!!!
So so so so so frustrating. :veryupset :frustration :fire

Exactly, tt! and that was just what Ox has been talking about on Ch 7 at ¾ time. I know he gets a blast on PRE for his anti-Tiger diatribes but he was really sticking up for Richo and saying what a disgrace this 50m thing is and the in-the-back rule.

Surprised how strongly he came out for Richo!

I beleive it's a mental decision from the umpires that happens in just about every aspect of life and certainly in footy.

The lower teams always get the stiff end of a 50/50 decision the better team gets the better end. I reckon, subconsciously, umpires "favour" the better team.
Similarly the home team always gets the good end of the 50/50 decisions (ie the Crows in SA or the Eagles in WA or the Cats at Shell stadium, the Pies at Victoria Park when they played there)

Again similarly when a team is on a roll they get favourable decisions from the umpires. Why? Human nature I guess.

Does anyone know why the maggots called advantage play on late in the last qtr when there was a scrambled pack mark attempt in the bummers forward line?
Joel had the ball in hand surrounded by players and standing on the goal line. Just finished watching a tape of the game and you can hear the maggot calling advantage, play on, play on and Bowdo has no option but to concede a behind,

I don't get the holding-the-ball thing. A tiger nobody (edwards) gets off a handball while a bummber tugs at his jumper - its holding the ball. But Judd can have three guys hanging off him, dragging him to his knees, and he gets a good 2 minutes to spot up a team mates with a handpass, and thats not holding the ball. :don't know

I know this has been said but do people honestly think the umpire thought Richo heard the whistle? He takes the mark, plays on, kicks a goal and celebrates wildy, but the umpire pays 50. It was so obvious Richo didn't hear the whistle and who could blame him with 61,000 in full voice (well at least half that number). The umpires can say what they like, but this is a complete lack of common sense that is RUINING the game.

So the rule is now if you don't hear the whistle because the crowd is so obviously loud........... YOU'RE STUFFED. Lesson: watch the umpire and not the ball.

The 50m was much worse than the original free - one was a decison with BS interpretion, the 50m was against all common sense and pure stupidity beyond belief. How can an umpire be so desperately unaware of the context of the game? Enough to send you to the bottle.

"Common sense" the only thing about common sense is that it is not common, I understand the umpy paying the free kick against Richo, but I absolutely cannot fathom the 50m penalty that followed. IMO Brett Allen the umpy in questiuon should be made to stand in front of the Tiger players during training this week & humbly request that Richo forgives the moron for being such an absolute .... for giving the 50m penalty.
Richo being the nice guy that he is will unfortunately forgive him, we mortals would stone the @*^e&ole.

And that *smile* head geisch said the 50 was correct, wat a doffus he is the only one who thinks that. Was it inconceivable to think that hey perhaps Richo if he heard it was just thinking yep my mark and im playing on and if he didn’t perhaps 62,000 fans going off, way to loud, no geisch couldn't think it possible for this to happen and i totally disagree that Allen was on the side of the contest he was more front on than anything.

Derek Humphrey b Bear is a wanker why because he isn't objective in his comments what so ever how is he allowed to write for the Hun or comment on SEN is joke, he just can’t be objective.
