PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

A weekend without my beloved Tigers - allowed me to resume my love of "Apache Cat" and to watch a few other codes I've ignored for a while ;)

One aspect stood out this weekend.

The Rugby League Test Match (Aust vs NZ) was on Friday night - and then many of the AUS players not only backed up the next night - but actually received BOG accolades! :clap

The question has to be:

Why do we tolerate the crud that AFL coaches/players (and even supporters) continually serve up bleating on about short 5 and 6 day breaks?

I realise that some on here are going to defend the concept by identifying the differences in the codes (athletisism vs high impact / length of game) - BUT - I look at the AFL interchange system and the lack of impact and wonder why we aren't embarrassed when we raise/justify a loss using this old chestnut?

Well done to the NRL boys this weekend.

They have served as a reminder why AFL struggles to establish itself in the masculine heartland of NSW and QLD in particular :(
