6 players to be delisted/clean out / delisted players/ Now for the departure of players [Merged]

No Leysy,Hilton played Dixon into form which made it hard for Newman.Newman is a class above Hilts.

That must make Gaspar one of the greats cos after Dixon had finished with Newman, Dixon was running hotter than Freddie Flintoff when he see's Katich comes out to bat :boxing ;D
Don't bring up Katich's name. He's still in the side.

Im willing to bet that if he gets resigned,he'll become the lazy and undisciplined player he always has been when the pressures off him.
The classic player who gives next to nothing until contract time.
Accurate assessment of Hilton. On the weekend Hilton played Dixon into form & gave away a 50 metre penalty.Hopefully TW will come to his senses re Hilton but 1 feels Hilton has even fooled him to.

i thought it was newman that brought dixon into form???
then *smile* got a hold of dixon and didnt get a sniff after half time

Re: 6 players to be delisted/clean out / delisted players/ Now for the departure

Dixon got 2 on Hilton in 5 minutes. Then kicked 2 on Newman. Then 1 on Gaspar.

I know the hilton things been done to death (but while we're on the subject ;D)

Im not seduced by Paris playing a few reasonable games.I accept he's trying hard, but for me its too little too late.
He has been a big disappointment at RFC and as aforementioned finds the extra gear only when required.
If we can get any pick or trade for him I'd deal.

My view is that Paris has tried hard to get into form and fitness and into the games this year but hasn't in any game taken it by the scruff of the neck and starred. The best that he has managed is to bob up and do a few good things. Don't know if another pre-season would help or not, though I am conscious that real recovery for knee injuries can take two years not the one that Hilton has had.

Vehmently opposed to trading injured players so opposed him being delisted last year. Hilton has had his chance now, the club hasn't ducked their obligations if we can get a trade then lets take it. If we can't get a trade then he gets a one year contract or if we are squeezed for spots (which I don't believe will be the case) then a pink slip.

Yeah, without intimate knolwedge of his condition, I thought he might have been tradeable.  Still what are you like to get?  Another Fletcher, Nicholls or Marsh.  No doubt Miller/Wallace know better than us!  Just thought he might have been worth an uninterupted preseason perhaps.  Maybe he'll bob up somewhere else - LOl we might redraft him @ less $$$ on the PSD ;D :o

I supose a late draft pick would be better than nothing.  Maybe he could be part of a package when trading begins?

Obviously others will be offered as trade bait when that all begins.

Does anyone remember what we traded to get Blumfield?
2nd rnder pick 28 i think.

If all you guys got off Hiltons back, maybe he could run a bit quicker!! Give the guy a go. He has been at Richmond for quite some time now, but he is still 15 times better than the younger blokes being pumped up on this site, who are running around in Coburgs RESERVES, and Tom Roach who should be.

Interesting posting history you have there Kath.
Are you Rory Hilton? 8)

good call kath , unfortunatly whenever rory does anything good a small group of posters rubbishes his efforts. if he played a great game they would immedietly insist his opponent was injured . he has played some good games this year but the lynch mob will have none of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a great post just demonstrating the robust nature of the PRE board. Opinions abound everywhere - the trick is to desiminate the good from the rest. Food for thought they say.....

Great to see you have an opinion Kath.

If believe that if we are to excel and succeed in the elite competition that is the AFL,then we have to aim higher than Rory Hilton, particularly after the amount of time, and the high pick we gave up for him.
The fact he has had serious injury added to an already slow player just cruells his chances of ever being a consistent topline player for us.Callous maybe, but if we are ever to advance from this mediocre mire we're entrenched in,then we must be astute and aggressive when trading and drafting.
Kudos for old favorites who aren't up to it will see you smashed to smithereens in this modern game.
I know all 35 odd guys on your list aren't going to be Wayne Careys calibre, but adhering to a policy of not rewarding players who cannot advance us after 3-4 years in the system make sense to me.

Tristan Cartledge drafted by Esserden with the pick. Thanks Dadoro.

Bloody Oath, how about a pint on it?

I agree he is versatile,he can't play anywhere.

Your most succinct and accurate post ever, MB.

Struggs, it's obviously not delisting season yet. Your generosity towards Paris is admirable.

Not seduced, eh? :rofl

K Day - your form is as good as Hiltons. Who is running around in ressi's, McGuane and Limbach. Neither of these boys are pumped up. The other blokes who you may be referring to are regularly in best for burgers which is evidenced by this weeks ins. Tom Roach named in tigers this week on the back of very solid form for burgers.

Fair and reasonable post Brett.

Hilton's done OK this year coming back from injury. Stood up in a couple of games when no one else was. Should he stay? We'll know somewhere mid-season next year because I don't think he's going to be delisted.

Cheers
