Things have been pretty hectic on here the past few days. Not surprising because PRE is a massive site and often has well over 100 people posting at once, and we all know there's nothing like a flogging to bring out the worst in us all.
It's that very fact that makes it necessary for people to show some consideration to others.
Swearing and abuse isn't acceptable here. Newcomers mightn't be aware of that yet but plenty of regulars have been stretching the boundaries a bit.
While it may give a momentary release from the frustrations people are feeling it's showing disrespect for others. There are people who value the family-friendly aspect of this site and they shouldn't have to read some of the things that have been written this week.
Also with a busy season ahead it would be appreciated if people could try to stick to similar threads rather than starting new ones all of the time. Thanks to thsoe who take time to report posts. It's a great help.
There were 6 pages of tasks listed in the moderation log after Friday night's debacle. On top of those there is the extra work of messaging reminders of the posting guidelines and telling people why their posts were deleted etc etc. It's been extremely hectic and I have to give a special thanks to Jools for her efforts. I remember when I used to be so sweet and patient too, haha.
Another disappointing thing is the critiscm of other posters questioning how much or little they support the club. I for one aren't able to get to the club to offer my services but I don't feel any less a Tiger for it. I find it offensive for others'support to be measured agaisnt what someone else does, how much they spend, how many games they go to etc etc.
We all react to things in different ways and those who can get on with life and maybe even find a few laughs don't necessarily feel the hurt less than those who choose to remain angry and bitter no matter what.
We can all in our own little way help the site to continue to grow and prosper and it would be a massive help to the ModSquad if people were mindful of the rules before posting.
Anyway here's to a good season ahead on PRE and far happier things to post about than we had this week.
Something to think about- A senior employee of our club told me that several employees read PRE religiously. They don't always like what they read but at least they know what people are thinking. As the person said that's a far better situation than nobody even caring.
