in what way am i paranoid? i actually enjoy the banter with you TB.

very impressive. especially considering no other club except victory has reach the 10,000 mark. wd mh.

hardcore? :rofl

apart from the flares (which i hate), why is victory so hardcore? simply because our support is the most passionate? because we make the most noise? sing the best chants? have the best away support? don't listen to the talk about so called hooligans/ultra wannabes. and don't listen to all the verbal diarrhea on melbournevictory.net.

The club is delighted.

We hope to get to at least 10,000 members this season. That's the hope.

I only ever see wannabee ultra's in the BWB area in the Northern Terrace. Certainly they make up a vast majority of people there. Also they make up a vast majority on the website you pointed out and when I undertook research.

I am glad you are not one orf them mate, just remember, we don't have to like each other's teams, but always remember it's for the good of the game we are here. I think the rivalry will put Football on the map not only in Victoria but the rest of the country!

yep, i've copped a caning on that website for my anti flare stance and you can cop it a bit if your opinion differs from the majority. but it's nothing more than banter. and i have been on enough victory roadtrips now to know that their bark is bigger than their bite. infact, most of the trouble comes from overzealous police, security and elements of the FFA. trust me on this - i have seen it with my own eyes. i can tell you some stories from the adelaide and sydney road trips last season...

but if you think heart aren't gonna have wannabe ultras and supporters ripping flares then you're highly mistaken.

I never said that. I fully expect some too, I just hope the majority are not like that. I am very anti that sort of stuff. Refer to me as a plastic fan, but I just love football and watching football.

Selling like hot cakes well in a day since they have gone on sale we have sold over 3,000 memberships. Not bad at all.

page 94 in todays hun "...with global recruitment firm Drake International joining Westpac, and launched a membership drive - with 1000 signing up on the first day."

still impressive for a-league standards, but a long way off 3000. that's the last time i believe your so called "inside knowledge" TB :hihi

You would believe the Herald Sun though? Despite your views on that paper? That's funny mate.

Also when was that information given - I know we told the media about Drake early morning with a press release.

So do you now take the Herald Sun as gospel? ;D ;)

fair point. it is strange though that the hun underestimated the figure... and by a fair margin. they would have got their mail from someone at heart and you would have thought if anything they'd be more likely to inflate as opposed to underestimating.

Very true, but when did they get the figures and notification of the new sponsor? ;D

As I said, the club is overwhelmed by the response.

I'd reckon they've just made a strategic decision - the logistics of getting one A-League team up in a short time frame is challenging enough.

TB, i heard heart won't have a youth league team this year. why not? financial reasons?

Antman has it pretty well right. We have a strong Youth contingent in our squad already, and we will be working on recruiting more for the season next, with John Aloisi as head coach and have a really good structure in place. There is no need to rush the youth team yet. Definitely not financial issues mate.

Media release from mvfc: "Media is invited to join Melbourne Victory Coach, Ernie Merrick and Football Operations Manager, Gary Cole as they make a major player announcement at 2:00pm tomorrow, Monday June 7th."

new signing?

What an anti-climax!

huge anti climax. muscat is playing on. strange to call a press conference for something most mvfc fans knew anyway...

good on the melb vict PR people stealing some Publicity now that there are 2 teams in Melbourne.... good stunt, but def a bit of a non story. so much hype about it, i was sure we were signing cahill for 10 years??

please get a real story and sign a striker and a keeper Mel Vict, dont make me have to run over glenn moss walking back from goshes paddock after a session.

It's been such a frustrating pre-season having our local rival announce big signings left right and center and when it comes to our club all we've got is doughnuts.

i see your point and probably explains why victory had a press conference for what turned out to be minor news. marketing is one area where mvfc (and the HAL in general) need to improve as a whole.

rest assured Giardiasis, the signings will come. still plenty of time.
