A-League threads [Merged]

Bit of a surprise if true, and I can't say I'm upset with it if it does happen. I think the A-League going to foreign coaches with new aspiring Australian coaches as their assistants is the way to go. So far NQR, Sydney and Heart has this type of set up.

brenber now officially an aussie. victory have 2 spots left in their squad, both of whom are visa spots. one or which is the international marquee spot.

i received a text from my brother saying he heard an ad on radio stating tix for the everton v heart game have been reduced to $19. is this true Tigerbob? would be a bit embarrassing if it is...

These visiting team games are ludicrously overpriced. I went to the Juventus game but only because I got free tix through a mate. Why pay four times the odds to see two sides playing a practice game, big names or not.

How have the ticket sales been, tickets do seem way excessive.

i agree. i got a free ticket to juventus game or else i wouldn't have gone myself. i didn't go to fulham last year. i am going to the boca juniors game next week though. paid $36 for that.

unfortunately the everton and boca juniors tours were organised by independant promoters, so they set the prices and choose the venues. it's not right, but we wouldn't be able to get the big teams down here without the high prices.

i'm guessing the promoters have reduced the prices for everton v heart because he knows they're gonna lose money due to lack of tickets sold and is trying to recoup as many losses as possible. bad luck to anyone who had purchased tix at higher prices... i also bet they'd now wished they'd played them both at aami park.

btw, the money victory are receiving for the boca juniors game is being donated to the chilean earthquake appeal.

Tigerbob, i'm hearing conflicting stories... first i've heard that heart have signed close to 8000 members. now i'm hearing that heart have issued an email stating they have passed 2000 members. are you able to provide a more accurate figure? cheers.

don't wanna boast but with mvfc capping membership numbers at 22,000 due to the aami park capacity, the north and south ends are completely sold out, less than 1000 A reserve left, just over 2000 B reserve left, and just over 4000 C reserve left. just over 7000 remaining. a month out from the season.

everton 2, heart 0. didn't go to the game, but i heard it was very low tempo. crowd just over 19,000. reasonable i guess considering its a wednesday and the weather is crap - but half of what sydney got on saturday night and we know how fickle they can be... i just wonder what the crowd would have been if they hadn't slashed the prices...

Went tonight, got some comp tickets. I did hear that over 4000 were given away to corporates. Level three was closed which made the ground seem much fuller.

Very low tempo, quite dull affair. The Toffs rarely got out of first gear, missed a pen in the first five and had two classy finishes. Created a lot more chances. One by Saha that froze Bolton and a good finish by Rodwell from a low cross. Heart failed to do much damage but did have some nice link ups. The striker Sibon looks like lurch.
Cahill played the second half only and rarely got out of a trot. Poor bloke looked tired.

Wasn't a great spectale but only a warm up for both.

Tigerbob, tix for a-league games were supposed to go on sale from today. if you refer to the link (http://premier.ticketek.com.au/Shows/Show.aspx?sh=MELHEART11), i've noticed the first derby on oct 2 is not listed among the heart home games. do you know anything about this? are they doing some type of special release? i was hoping to buy tix to this game today...

GO MARINERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

(P.S. i have it on good authority that Victory are on the verge of announcing the signing of a brazillian striker - one that will apparently get tongues wagging)

if it ain't Gisele Bundchen I don't care

Saw the Heart play tonight. Was quite boring. Luckily sat near a group of rather witty fellows and the 30-odd Mariners fans, who made the night far more interesting and happily drew the attention away from the on-field game.

Cool stadium too. Would be better if it was fully filled, only 11000 turned up, not really a great atmosphere.

Should've gone to see the Victory instead.

come to the victory game next week mate, we'll fill aami park. we're playing perth, so the fowler factor will be big.

lol at heart supporters for saying they'll be playing this exciting dutch brand style of football. nice reality check for them tonite methinks.
