A-League threads [Merged]

mate, if you were gonna pick a young striker for the experience, you would pick that bullet kid (his full name escapes me) who dominated the under 20 asian cup. he plays in turkey i believe.

in a bit of trouble with the law i think youll find, unless im getting him confused with another young player

those critical of the quality of the aleague should catch a replay of last nights goals. that assist from robbie kruse was world class. but unfortunately for victory he might have just sealed a spot for the asian cup.

also, there appears to be ticketing issues at aami park reminiscent of etihad stadium in its early days. there were huge cues at the ticket box and i'm hearing a few thousand were turned away in the end despite there being only 16,000

edit: apparently the computers crashed at both ticket boxes.

Ian is there anywhere you can see those goals on line?

yeah can't say it was a very impressive victory. but central coast deserve to cop everything they get with their defence first game plan.

Still happy to see Kruse get a gig.

Cannot believe that the Adelaide will seven overseas imports in their side very shortly. Well done, will be a very powerful side.

yeah not happy with the loophole where you can sign injury replacements and guest players that are not included as visa players. good luck to them i guess, but we'll know they'll end up choking in the end.

Don't have a team but enjoying watching it as a neutral and also the odd punt. Adelaide vs Brisbane coming up hopefully should be a good game. No Broich, McKay which probably takes it back to a 50/50 game at Hindmarsh as Adelaide have been ordinary lately.

A-League has been exciting lately actually. Still get the odd bad quality match but been a lot of very good quality ones too. I also retract my statement from before. After watching it more and more the quality is more than fine for a league still in it's infancy with a lot of room for improvement and growth but no doubt will still face a lot of challenges going forward.

the best investment for the future of soccer in Australia was the introduction of the youth a-league, professional training while the kids are still developing will go along way to level that the a-league is played at. the better the local players are, the better international players we can import.

Was mentioned on SEN that Aloisi will be the coach of the Heart Youth and will retire end of season.

first home win since the oct 9 derby :rofl

but seriously, would love a victory v heart final.

MO tiger, i'm surpsrised togerbob hasn't jumped down your throat to get you on the heart bandwagon. hehehe.

depends on what you like: if you like the underdog, by all means follow heart. if you want to follow a proven winner, the best run and most professional club in the league, best supporters, the best at bringing through kids, etc, etc, then follow victory.
