A message board by any other name is still as good.

Previously posted Tigerland Talk. However, it is up to Rosy but personally I can't see how we can avoid having Tiger, Tigerland, Fighting Fury or Yellow and Black with or without Talk/Chat etc somewhere in the title.

We could always call it Dyer-ere. :smiledevil :scold.
That used to be the name of Jacks column in the old TRUTH newspaper. ;D

Any more suggestions for the new board name?  I've had a few sent by e-mail and will do a poll this arvo.

So far.

Talking Footy
Talking Tigers
Tiger Torque
Tiger Tales
Tiger Roar
Dyer-tribe
Tigerland Talk
Tigerland
Tiger Chat
Punt Road Prattle
Dyer-ere
Jungle Talk
Tiger Jungle
The Jungle

Actually think we've got enough. Will post the poll now.

People should refer to this forum as the "Original" Tiger-Talk list - as in the one started up by Damian all those years ago (is the Internet really that old?), not one of those sites that came in much, much later......

Regards, David.

Just for a little context, Damian Streets started up the first "Tiger Talk" list on a Majordomo listserver when he was at Monash Uni around March 1996 (those were the days when you went to the club and told them to get involved in this thing called "The Internet", you received a puzzled stare from the people you were talking to..........).

Since then the "Tiger Talk" list has moved through a few list server providers, and has been on the Yahoo Groups system since October 1999.

It was probably one of - if not - the first AFL club discussion forums on the Internet (certainly Richmond's first popular one - as in more than 10 people using it on a regular basis back then....), I'm not sure if any others have been around (or survived) for as long.

I don't really get the context in regard to age David. I doubt anyone from here calls PRE TigerTalk but am happy to change the name anyway due to your concerns. :)

The context was the age of the Tiger Talk list (and just provided for those who may have thought the Internet was invented just a couple of years ago).

As I said in my post on that list, referring to that one as the "Original" Tiger Talk list may prevent any confusion, especially among some of our players who may be bagging the wrong place! ;D

This all starting to sound like the Little River Band who are really not the Little River Band anymore, despite the fact that there are Three Original Band members who wrote all the Hits. Pretty Out There You Know.

Given the Context issue, I say change the name quickly and let the Original Tiger Talk cop it's legitimate flak for any criticism of our Player List. :police:
