Peoples opinions differ but I'm sure that nearly all regular posters want success for Richmond.

I was delighted when we got Simmonds for Fiora, and livid when we gave pick 8 for Biddiscombe.
I'll also confess to thinking that drafting Andrew Raines was a bit of a PR stunt by the club and would turn out to be a mistake,I was wrong but I'm rapt for the lad and love the way he plays.

I'm not some 'anti-Polak' but I'm aggrivated that we've resorted to downgrading a prize pick in a super draft because of a lack of planning by RFC.

Good post Snuggles but not typical by any stretch.
You are certainly not speaking on behalf of many of those you wish to defend.
You have taken a balanced approach to the issue and had the balls to admit when you have erred in your thinking on occasions. There's some here who don't/won't and wouldn't know humility if it bit them on the arse.

I have no problem with criticism and and like yourself and have been guilty of it myself on many occasions.
Everyone here knows how frustrating it can be "supporting" this club, but some have a damn sight shorter fuse than others.

You are sure that nearly all posters here want success for the RFC?
A few have a strange way of showing it.
Certain posters here have spewed fire and brimstone at Wallace and Miller ad nauseam.
This is despite the fact that many of the worst decisions, that have obviously deeply affected them were made before the current administration was in place. The scars must run very deep.
The "hate" is one way traffic, 100% of the time despite the fact that the current decisions haven't even been tested yet!

That's what really gets me offside.

A good forum takes all kinds to make it interesting but the reaction this week has been so far OTT, that it's made me consider going into hibernation for the summer.
I just can't stand the negativity that's been all over the boards of late. Someone gave me good advice a while back not to hang around negative people and lately PRE has been a morgue.

Pick your dummy up and get on with it. ;D

interesting that the darksiders ahave hijacked this thread and ignored the fact that polak is quick

The knock on him was his pace, now that this has been ruled out as a problem, Polak is still not a good move.

I dont know why I give a f@ck to be honest

I probably should keep my info to myself as I am preaching to the unconvertible here,

Carn the tigers !!!!

...and again. Probably his best post ever (from the 3 that I have read).

Jog my memory, what were the other two worth reading?

One was about the illegitimate son of Bill Lawry posting on here.
I pretty sure the other was about confused Tasmanians masquerading as Victorians.

There are a couple who 'bait' TOOTS I agree, but through Claws extreme views he does have valid points, and was partly responsible for the rookie club.
Ive met him here in Melbourne when he flew over from Perth to watch us so that takes some dedication to the club as well.

Where abouts?
All I have read is differing opinions, which is what forums are for.......yes?

Just informed from an impeccable source.

Polak tested 2.95 for 20 metres at the draft camp in 2001

Very very quick of the mark.

The club is trying to make him a backman even though they know he is a natural forward.
Prone to being slack in defense, and not concentrating hard enough hence he looks slow, but from reports is very quick indeed.
The club is  very confident he will be a 10 year player for the tigers

Thrilled to get him as we have been chasing him for two years.

NO interest in Perry, way too slow I have been told.

I believe we will have 5 picks in the draft
1 pre season pick and our full quota of rookies.

The tigers are on the right track,

He looks slow in recent years because of his appalling fitness levels. But this is something that can be improved if he pulls his finger out.

He has reportedly put on extra weight and had injury problems, so how do results from 5 years ago have any bearing on his speed today?

I'm not singling anyone out and as I have said it takes all kinds to make a successful forum.

These individuals probably do in some strange way, want the RFC to succeed, at least on their terms.

However the best and most respected posters on PRE, generally take a balanced view.
That is constructive criticism where they feel necessary BUT also praise where it's due.

The endless criticism and negativity wears very thin after a while, particular where decisions by those in charge haven't even been put to the test.

It's unconstructive, divisive and gives creedence to the oppositions claims that many RFC "supporters" really do eat their own.

Dummy spit over.

What's his speed over 20m in 2006?

in 6 months, some of polak's critics might be very red faced

Reckon a lot of them will be quite happy to be wrong. We may not agree on everything but I have no doubt we all want success for the RFC.

We have had a dearth of KPPs for some time that has gone unaddressed.
In short, I understand why we had to do it....but am disappointed as it could have been avoided with shrewder recruitment in previous years, and thats not hindsight IMO,its been a clear issue.

No doubting that I'll be hoping and praying that our pick 13 turns out to be a gun though.

Some of the imbecilic responses to anyones questioning of our wisdom in this draft is simply pathetic, after all we are all speculting whether its right or wrong at this point.
spot on.

Is quick, or was quick at a draft camp half a decade ago is the point raised blaisee - a perfectly valid one I would have thought.

It's interesting that he ran that time as a much lighter teenager who'd never had a knee injury, but how fast he is now is the relevant point.

Interesting in the article he states that he has always wanted to play at CHF. I wonder if TW has this in mind and maybe Schulz will end up at CHB....

In his recent interview after his appointment to the RFC he said he felt he played is best football at CHB.

:-\

I don't care if he plays forward or back as long as he's a success at the RFC.

Dont stress Oldie my man................. Polak was recruited specifically to fill the void and add genuine height and strength to our defence............ and that is where he will play at CHB.

Schulz and Hughes will play Full Forward throughout 07.

Am very much looking forward to watching how young Hughes goes about things this pre season, a big pre season will have people getting excited bout him on here.

You've suggested we've chased him for 2 years, was it us?

Yeah, wondered the same thing Old Man - was it the same time that we got Simmo - both with CHF in mind perhaps?  Four years / 5 years, has a similar ring to it :P

Also wonder whether Simmo had any influence by way of recommendation in us getting the PoleCat?

That's quite a quick time for 20 meters. Sounds like he'd be great as a leading forward who can take a pack mark, or a closing down defender who has body strength. There are a lot of ups for this guy, he just needs to get his head right, a fresh start will do him the world of good.

Hopefully he can turn his potential, and become a star for years.
