A somewhat negative thread - Players who are on their last chance in 09

All clubs have a group of players who need to prove themselves - that's fine, because that's how professional sport works - perform or be moved on. What is the key thing is how the club reacts to those who aren't performing......

Throw Tambling & Hughes in this mix also.

Don't think Tambling's in the same category. He's had four years and each year has been better than the last. If he improves again in 09 (which IMO simply means improving disposal efficiency) then he'll deservedly be considered a worthy senior player.

Surely u jest .

Richie had a good year in 2008 and will be one of our guns in 2009. Even Claw would be scraping the bottom of the barrell to include Richie on the future clouded list.

Personally I think that there is a question mark over Tambling, but I would be amazed if he was simply delisted due to where he was taken and how much time has been invested in him. If his development plateaus and especially if next year proves Wallets last, he could easily find himself as trade-bait. The role he has been playing and more importantly how he has played it has hardly made him indispensible (let's just say if he is one of our 'guns' next year - expect a very, very long season).

I would agree with all the players nominated as being endangered. However again it's all about whether Wallet coaches on after 2009 as to how threatened (and of course how many if any of our very elderly senior list retires). Most will get the benefit of the doubt if he survives, if he doesn't, all of them not least of all Wallets love child McHahon will have cause for concern.

As Gus's pres I would like to point out that he had a pretty positive end to the season in 2008 after coming back from injury. I have noted the names of the posters hanging it on it him lately and I will publish a shame list early next season when he shows you all up. >:D

What Claw is actually trying to say is that anyone whose jumper number is between 1 and .... ummm...... 60 is on the list

but he's being positive ;D
